Pitch My Song is a three-part event designed to showcase the incredible talent and skills of local songwriters and performing artists. Each event features a special guest who is an expert in the music industry, such as a music publisher, manager, or music supervisor. This guest is invited to share their knowledge and experience with the audience, offering valuable insights into the music industry and what they look for in terms of music.
The first part of the event kicks off with a live workshop QA session with the expert. During this session, the guest shares invaluable information about the current state of the music industry and provides guidance on what aspiring musicians should expect when starting their own independent music label. This segment is a goldmine of knowledge for attendees, as they gain insights into market trends and challenges, they may encounter.
The second part of the event gives local songwriters an opportunity to submit one original song to have it played live during the QA session. Out of the submissions, ten songs will be selected, and each songwriter will have 60-90 seconds of their song played. The expert executive then offers constructive feedback on the marketability of the songs and provides professional tips on which markets to target. This feedback and guidance are invaluable to the aspiring songwriters, helping them refine their craft and improve their chances of success.
The final segment of the event is a live performance featuring local performing artists from CT. Each artist will have the chance to perform one original song. This segment presents a unique opportunity for the artists to pitch their songs directly to the special guest music executive. They may receive valuable feedback or even have the chance for their music to be considered for placement opportunities.
