A few months ago, we did a podcast episode on navicular rehab and one of the guests said something that I've been thinking about a lot lately. I know I've posted about this before, but it is worth repeating.

When talking about lameness rehabilitation, she said:

""Especially when the horse starts looking sound, that's when you don't want to rush it." Tayla Pierce-Hart

Stop and read that again.

It is so tempting for us to put our horses back into work the second they are moving more comfortably, right back into what they were doing before.

But that is exactly the time when they need to take things slow!

Let's compare a horse's rehab to a human's. If we had a soft tissue/joint/bone injury etc., and we rested enough that the pain went away, it wouldn't mean those structures are STRONG, just that they are able to handle baseline without pain.

At that point a program needs to be put in place to allow those structures to gain strength.

All I can say is, you will likely not regret going too slow with your horse's rehab, but you may regret going too fast.

If your horse has intermittent lameness and seems to do well, then has setbacks after work, it might be worth starting with handwalking and working up slowly to see if that "intermittent lameness" turns to strength and soundness.

As part of the GA meeting today, it was decided that South Africa will be the host country for the World Cup in August 2023.

Participating countries have been divided into 4 groups through a draw, 7 countries per group, and only two countries from each group will qualify to compete in the World Cup.

The qualifiers will take place starting from this year till June 31, 2023.

كجزء من اجتماع الجمعية العامة اليوم ، تقرر أن تكون جنوب إفريقيا الدولة المضيفة لكأس العالم في أغسطس 2023.

وعليه تم تقسيم الدول المشاركة إلى 4 مجموعات من خلال سحب 7 دول لكل مجموعه، وستتأهل دولتان فقط من كل مجموعة للمنافسة في كأس العالم.

ستقام التصفيات بدءًا من هذا العام و حتى 31 يونيو 2023.
