The 16th annual Ulster County Italian American Festival at the Rondout Waterfront in Kingston on Sunday, October 8th, from 12 PM - 8 PM, bringing authentic Italian food, wine, music, culture, and entertainment to the Hudson Valley.

Presented by the Ulster Italian American Foundation, the one-day family-friendly festival features live music on two stages, dozens of food vendors, a spaghetti eating contest, cooking demonstrations, children's activities, many photo opportunities such as David, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italian street scene and more.

"The Italian Festival has become a beloved tradition in Ulster County, giving locals and visitors alike a chance to experience the sights, sounds, tastes, and culture of Italy," said festival organizer Anthony Tampone. "From the food to the music to the entertainment, it's a full day of Italian fun for the whole family."

Musical highlights include jazz great Louis Prima Jr. and the Witnesses headlining the main stage in TR Gallo Park. Other acts include the Vince Chiarelli Band, Ars Choralis featuring tenor Andrew Hoben performing beloved Italian classics, The Leonisa Ardizzone Quartet, and Michael Del Tribute to the Rat Pack. A second stage on East Strand, managed by the O+ Festival, will feature Francesca Hoffman, Brazilian Jazz by Benji Kaplan and Rita Figueiredo, M'Bollo, Pulso de Barro, and Studio Stu & the Rhythm Method.

Also this year; an Italian Cultural Center in the Maritime Barn, featuring ravioli & pasta demonstration, language lessons, stories from our local Italian Americans, and videos showcasing the beauty of Italy. The always-popular spaghetti eating contest takes place at 1:30 PM.

This Festival is made possible in part by a grant from the City of Kingston and the federal American Rescue Plan Act and our sponsors. Please visit our website to learn more.

Admission to the festival is free. Shuttles will be provided from the Kingston Plaza by Hannaford Supermarket, Kingston High School parking lot off Andrew Street, and Kingston Point Beach (Handicap shuttle).

So I haven’t posted any updates in a while regarding or kitchen opening… we are still waiting for some renovations to be completed and are hoping to open by mid August. I will be updating our page a little more often as it gets closer.

Also we are looking to hiring some fun people to work with us. We need a few people to work part time and yes weekends are a must for not only our kitchen but for events, catering and concerts at Bethelwoods. Please message if you are interested. This is for work in Orange and Sullivan Counties. Food and food service experience would be nice, but we will train the right person.

So we tried a few new hors d’oeuvres this weekend at a catering job……
Goat cheese spread with a blueberry balsamic reduction, chicken satay with a creamy spiced peanut butter sauce and our chicken salad with dried cranberries and candied walnuts and pecans in a wonton cup.
Wouldn’t this be great at you next party?

The 2nd Annual Festival of the Founding Fish: Upper Delaware Shadfest starts tomorrow at the market! Celebrity Shad Chef Annika Sundvik is back preparing delectable shad bites, the Greater Barryville, New York Chamber of Commerce is organizing a up and down the Delaware, and musical guests will be playing Yacht Rock hits to entertain and delight us. Later in the day, the party moves upriver to Fort Delaware Museum in Narrowsburg. Local award winning fishing guide Stephen Draghi will be hosting a Q&A and demo at the Fort 12pm-1pm, and the MAIN EVENT! In the Party Tent at the fort, its the 2nd Annual 6-10pm with Barryville Farmers' Market favorites Nikki C's Seafood & Catering and Shrewd Fox Brewery powering the dance party with DJ's & and Surf Rock band Boyscott. So Nikki C’s is looking to hire a few people. We are looking for part time to work in the kitchen prepping food and selling in the market. Also looking for people to work at events, farmers markets and catering. Clam and oyster shuckers are ideal as well. The only thing which is a must is you must be available on weekends!

Oh and these positions are in Eldred NY, so if you live in California, Florida or the middle of the state you need not reply. TIA

We are so excited that we were asked to take part of the Sullivan Public soft opening happening this Sunday May 14 at 16 Proctor Road Eldred, NY. Jessie Lazar a local potter in Eldred is opening this space for a studio and community space where she will provide some exciting workshops.

Stop by for some Sunday fun and maybe a lobster roll! The Greater Barryville, New York Chamber of Commerce will be having the ribbon cutting ceremony @ 12.

With a rainy weekend you might believe warmer sunny weather is on its way and I’m sure you are all looking forward to sitting outside enjoying dinner and some fun times with friends and family. What better way to do this with a Clam Bake from our kitchen!!! Clams, Shrimp, Mussels, Corn, Sausage and our seasoning. Add some liquid and bake on the grill or oven. A great dinner add some of our Italian seasoned toast and enjoy. Best of all put everything back in the tin and clean up is done. Get ready to order your clam bake at our kitchen!!

So we have been trying different ideas for our specials. Delicate Squash is one of my favorites. This was squash we brought at Barryville Farmers' Market in the fall and made this a while ago. So what do you think of a To Go meal …. Roasted delicate Squash stuffed with Harissa Shrimp and pearled couscous with homemade creamy pesto. Yummmm.

Nikki C’s is going to be brick and mortar!!!!!!! Nikki C’s will be operating as Nikki C’s Kitchen, Catering and Seafood Market!!!! Yes I said Seafood Market. We will be providing Sullivan County with fresh seafood as well as offering some great meals to go. We are planning on opening in June so keep following us for updates. Our new location will be 585 State Rte 55 Eldred, NY.

We will continue to do our farmers markets and events. We are looking forward to seeing all our friends at our new kitchen and can’t waiting to meet all of our new friends. Continue to follow for news of our opening and some fantastic specials coming your way.

This weekend we will be at the 1st Barryville Holiday Market, not at the usual farmers market spot but at the Town of HIghland Senior Center 725 Ste Rd 55
Eldred, NY…..INSIDE.

So our event season has come to an end. It was very busy and quick season and want to thank everyone who came to see us at the many events we were at.

We still have 1 more weekend at the Barryville Farmers Market and a few more holiday markets at Barryville and Bethelwoods.

Wow what an idea….. A Clam Bake this weekend!!!!

Hey wait, we have that! Clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn, all in a tin topped with our seasonings and you add a liquid of you choice, cover and in 30 to 45 min dinner is ready. Even better…. After enjoying a delicious Clam Bake put everything back in the tin cover and clean up is done!!
