Fresh local, and sustainable šThese vibrant blooms are grown right here in Vernal, and the compostable vase means theyāre as eco-friendly as they are beautiful.
Iāve heard mixed reviews of Florets Zinnia collections this year, to be honest I was a bit nervous I wouldnāt like mine once they started blooming. However, Golden Hour is so beautiful! I love the way that the petals get a pinkish tinge as they age. I do wish that there were more double petaled flowers instead of singles ( most are singles) Iām definitely saving seeds and planting a lot more for next year!
Hi š itās me the flower girl just trying to survive August! Two weddings and Utah Flower Day within a week took quite a bit of my floral and mental bandwidth. Hoping to get back into the swing of things this weekend . While myself and the flowers will be there, Poppy the flower trailer will not be attending. Look for us on the side closest to Antica Forma.

Just a heads up, I will not be at the Ashley Valley Farmers Market this weekend. The flower trailer will instead be at NAPA in Naples on Saturday! I will be there from 8 AM till 1 PM or bouquets sell out whichever comes first. Thank you for your support. Hope to see you Saturday morning!
If you missed out on a bouquet š last weekend I will be at the Ashley Valley Farmers Market with the flower trailer again this weekend! Get there early so you donāt miss out on the blooms. If you need somewhere for your bouquet to stay while you make other purchases pay and pickup later. The market is from 9 am- 1 pm in the park next to the library. Hope to see you there!
This is what the flower trailer looked like before, during, and after the build! Initially I had hoped to keep the metal sides, however; the rust from years of use had ate through the bottom of the side panels meaning they had to go! Instead of replacing with sheet metal I chose to add a bit of character with the wood. From there my dad spent hours fabricating while I sanded, stained, and clear coated everything. There are still a few additions coming to the trailer which I will share as they happen!
Iām sold out for today! Hope to see everyone next Saturday same time same place. Thank you so much for supporting my small business. āŗļø
First customers of the day! Bouquets are going šØ fast this morning. Beat the heat and hit the market early!
The flower trailer will make her debut at the Ashley Valley Farmers Markter Saturday July 13th. Come visit the market from 9 am- 1 pm in the park next to the library. The first 5 people that come to the market and show me that they follow me on either Facebook or Instagram will receive a bouquet on me!
Bouquet š giveaway not affiliated with Facebook, Instagram, or the Ashley Valley Farmers Market.
Todayās American grown flower is: Bells-of-Ireland. Moluccella laevis ( species name) or more commonly known as shell flower or Bells-of-Ireland are actually native to Turkey and the caucus mountains. Did you know the flowers themselves are small white blooms and the green shell we think of as the flower is actually a modified leaf? I love them for the texture and height they bring to an arrangement.
Todayās American grown flower is: dahlia. Known for their wide variety of bloom colors, sizes, and forms dahlias are a favorite of many. Dahlias are native to Mexico and Central America where they were utilized by the Aztecs to treat epilepsy. This blooms downfall is a local growers selling point, they do not ship well! That hasnāt slowed the demand for dahlias at all in the wedding and event industry, many growers specialize in these seasonal blooms.
Todayās American grown flower is: sunflower. š» These bright, bold, summer beauties are a fantastic cut flower. With advances in breeding and genetics there are a wide variety of colors and shapes to choose from. I personally stick to the āProcutā series since they are consistent and come in a variety of yellows, oranges, reds, and everything in between.
Happy Independence Day! Have fun and stay safe out there, you canāt hold a bouquet of local flowers if a firecracker takes your fingers off š
Todayās American grown flower is: Lisianthus. Also referred to as Eustoma or Prairie Gentian, this cut flower was bred from an American native wildflower (last photo). We love this flower on our farm for its rose like appearance without the pest pressure or thorns! This year we are growing a variety of colors including: apricot (pictured), lavender, light pink, dark pink, and terracotta.
Chopped off a few handfuls of short statice. The cotton candy colors reflect our sunset clouds āļø These shorties will dry in a cool place for future flower projects!
Check out this pretty pink poker statice flower, this is my first time growing this variety. Itās giving Veronica flower vibes for sure!
I planted out Silene āBlushing Lanternsā tonight. This funky whimsical perennial was one of my favorite additions to a wedding I did last fall. The bell shaped flowers are the perfect little something unexpected in your designs. I chopped them back pretty hard prior to planting, swipe to see how beautiful they were when I picked them up from Snuck Flowers.
Iām so excited to be joining the Utah Cut Flower Farm Association serving as their Secretary. Itās truly such a great organization thatās helped me out on my flower journey. I canāt wait to give back to others as they begin theirs or look to deepen their floral education.
We are thrilled to introduce you to KailCee Harrison, Utah Cut Flower Farm Associationās new Secretary! Her passion for growing flowers at and background in agriculture make her such a great addition to the board!
Here is a little more information on KailCee:
āAfter spending her childhood farming and playing in her grandparentās floral shop, founding a flower farm seemed like a natural choice for KailCee. Free Spirit Flora began after 3 a.m. Youtube deepdive into the floral industry abroad. After learning how flowers are grown, harvested, and sold on a massive scale in Holland, South Africa, and Columbia she felt that there must be a simpler, more sustainable way to produce flowers. Her grandparents told her stories of carnation farms in California, rose hot houses in Utah County, and how it used to be easier to purchase locally than it was to buy abroad. Inspired by the idea she set out to grow and share her flowers with her community. When she isnāt farming you can find KailCee hiking in the mountains or traveling with friends.ā
KailCee, we couldnāt be more excited to welcome you to the team!
Iāve gotten a lot of new followers lately so it feels like a good time for a little re-introduction. Hi there š Iām KailCee, the farmer florist behind Free Spirit Flora. Iām passionate about American grown flowers and sustainable floristry. This lead to me founding Free Spirit Flora, a flower farm with a focus on specialty flowers grown right here in the Uintah Basin.
My favorite flower changes with the season so donāt be surprised when I post 50 times a summer about my favorite, right now Iām loving Lisianthus. Itās all the shape and petals of spray roses without those pesky thorns! She also comes in a wide array of colors you wonāt find in roses.
When Iām not planting, designing, deadheading, or pulling weeds I enjoy hiking, reading, traveling with my friends, and loving on my dogs. I hope you will come pick up some of my flowers from the Ashley Valley Farmers Market or reach out via DM. Iām booking weddings for spring and summer of 2024 as well.

Prepping for a potential late season frost tonight by covering my cool season hardy annuals. I own a blue heeler and have three niecesā¦ Bluey is definitely popular in these parts. These dahlias (or are they dahlias) are stunning. A few of them have some funky genetics causing their flowers to have an almost calico look to them which I love.#freespiritflora #vernalutah #dinosaurland #flowers #utahflowers #flowerfarmer #utahflowerfarmer #utahblooms #farmerflorist #flora #buylocal #locallygrownflowers #smallfarm #smallbusiness #womenownedbusiness #shoplocal #inseasonblooms #sustainableflowers #slowflowers #cutflowers #flowersfromthefarm #sustainablefloristy #flowesfromthegarden #americangrownflowers #grownnotflown
I hope you come join us at the @ashleyvalleyfarmersmarket this morning! I will be here from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. or until I sell out. Iāve got some stunning bouquets and poseys! We are also sharing the park with the John Wesley Powell Festival so there are extra crafts, music, paddle boards, and a Cornhole tournament! #freespiritflora #vernalutah #dinosaurland #flowers #utahflowers #flowerfarmer #utahflowerfarmer #utahblooms #farmerflorist #flora #buylocal #locallygrownflowers #smallfarm #smallbusiness #womenownedbusiness #shoplocal #inseasonblooms #sustainableflowers #slowflowers #cutflowers #flowersfromthefarm #sustainablefloristy #flowesfromthegarden #americangrownflowers #grownnotflown
In the spirit of my mentor (she doesnāt know sheās my mentor so keep this between us) @melrobbins. Just do the damn thing! Two years ago I did my friends wedding flowers (I grew up in a flower shop so I get design š), but I had no idea where my product came from or how it was treated while it was grown. I learned that the U.S. has NO regulations on what floral products are allowed to be treated with prior to coming into the states and that most were fumigated to keep out invasive pest that tried to hitch a ride. Also Uncle Sam is a bit vague about what those pesticides are that they use prior to importation so your guess is as good as mine about what might be on your flowers from the grocery store! š¤·š»āāļøSo there I was with the dilemma, I wanted to do floristry but, I also wanted to do it responsibly for my clients. The only logical thing I could think to do was grow my own. I fumbled through YouTube university, googled so many things, and I built a plan! I was going to grow cut flowers locally! That way I could reduce the risk of handling poisonous flowers, literally. From there I just did it, one day at a time. The first year was hard, I failed a lot. But I came back this year and I just know it will be better. Bigger blooms, more cohesive color schemes, and one more wedding this fall. If youāve read this far thank you for listening to a girl on her soap box and if you have that thing you really want to do but you donāt know how? Itās been a cool rainy day here on the farm. Iām hoping that itās moistened the clay soil enough to make digging up the ranunculus easier. Changes in the weather and the swap from spring to summer flowers is a beautiful reminder that there is a time and reason for everything that happens in our lives. #freespiritflora #vernalutah #dinosaurland #flowers #utahflowers #flowerfarmer #utahflowerfarmer #utahblooms #farmerflorist #flora #buylocal #locallygrownflowers #smallfarm #smallbusiness #womenownedbusiness #shoplocal #inseasonblooms #sustainableflowers #slowflowers #cutflowers #flowersfromthefarm #sustainablefloristy #flowesfromthegarden #americangrownflowers #grownnotflown

Despite winters desperate clinging, spring is working its way into the picture here in the flower field. Baby ranunculus are popping up under the low tunnels. Itās finally warm enough that Iāve had to pull the plastic up and vent them a bit to keep the plants happy. My snap dragons were looking pretty rough! Covered in caterpillars and full of spent blooms it was definitely time for a trim! So I took the weed-eater to them tonight after mowing and edging the beds.
