I’ve been checking on my Dahlia tuber clumps and contemplating when I will pull a select few out of storage to begin waking them up to take cuttings. I’m thinking they will come out in late February or early March to get divided and potted up. The dahlia pictured is Peaches n Cream and she’s on the list of dahlias to take cuttings from. Flower farming may seem seasonal, but most farmers spend some of their “off season” preparing and planning for future crops.

Does anyone else feel like they have winter amnesia every year? I swear I forget just how cold our Januarys are until it’s below zero and I’m standing outside looking at frozen ground wishing there were flowers. Anyways here are some sunny bright Rudbeckia to fight your winter blues friends!

Working on getting the flower field tucked in for its winter sleep. Found some adorable little Eryngium seedlings under the 🍂 leaves. They will be mulched with an extra layer of leaves and hopefully next spring we will have some beautiful glittery thistle to add to bouquets!

Last weekend was OUR last attending the for the season. The Market will still be held at the library lawn, we just don’t have enough flowers to attend.
