We would like to introduce ourselves, we’re Al and Nicole the best friends behind Candid Chefs!

We most recently worked as chef and managers behind The Yellow Pear.

Restaurants and how people eat are rapidly changing, given the current state of this weird world we came up with an idea to create a food company that doesn’t have a store front. Using a ghost kitchen. We focus on restaurant quality food that is easily enjoyed at home, while continuing catering that people have come to love from us at The Yellow Pear.

More about us….

Alan comes from a long history in Niagara culinary scene. He began his career at Peller Estates, worked at esteemed restaurants; Redstone Winery, Edgewater Manor, Spencer’s at the Waterfront and Two Sisters to name a few. He then came to The Yellow Pear at Megalomaniac winery and Yellow Pear to eventually partner with Nicole to create Candid Chefs.

Nicole started her career in the kitchen, at a young age became chef of paradiso restaurant in Burlington, and Spencer’s at the Waterfront. She moved to front of house, working at Oliver bonnacini in Toronto and event supervisor at Peller estates winery. She then moved on to open The Yellow Pear food truck, catering company and then Yellow Pear Kitchen. As we all went through the pandemic Nicole revevaluted her work life and decided to partner with her best friend to create Candid Chefs.

Every Thursday we will be doing a hot meal deal for pick up in St. Catharines. $50 for a family package, and $15 for a single portion.

Let’s be candid…. It’s hard right now. Everything is expensive, money is tight, especially during the holidays! Going to a drive thru to feed a family of four you would be lucky to spend $60.
