As a homeschooler, I've discovered that learning requires a blend of an open heart, a persistent soul, and an adventurous mindset. Curiosity is usually sparked when completing tasks, cooking, playing instruments, and creating projects.
I was so interested in driving even as an eleven-year-old that I watched a ton of videos, including tutorials, memes, and competitions. I eventually asked my dad and Kuyas about it, but my dad was certain that I couldn't drive until I reach eighteen! I don't know why, but today was an incredible exception. My dad gave me permission to drive an ATV on a muddy mountain route rather than a level one!
What I had assumed to be simple turned out to be a really difficult task requiring perseverance, commitment, and guts. The journey was made more interesting by the fact that my teacher, Kuya Billy, was just a student driver's license holder!
This first time is a terrific reminder of how to spend holidays—with family—as well as an exciting and daring learning experience that applies my science, math, physical education, and values education teachings.
