Bonlando - Live at the Cube Winnipeg

This was an incredible gig and was recorded downtown Winnipeg at "The Cube" on Saturday June 8th, 2024 for the long running MEMETIC festival.

I have been playing techno since 1999, and I put many of my favourite tracks from the past 25 years into my crate and this is the result.

This 4 channel DJ set using Traktor Pro 4 is perfect for techno purists, and won't scare away the casual techno listener as this gig was on a multi-genre stage. It is a very "Carl Cox" inspired set.

I recorded a hypnotic techno set, which is the kind of techno i'm most hyped about at the moment.

Many of the artists are regulars (or their music is) at the infamous club in . This might be one of my best recordings yet.

Tracks from d.dan, Talisman , Truncate , Arthur Robert Lindsey Herbert , BorderOne , Quelza , Rene Wise , ufo95 & RØDHÅD , Linear system , Temudo , Declan James Joel West and more. So if try to go and you end up not making it past the bouncers, throw this mix on instead 😂

72 mins, 37 tracks meticulously layered, mixed and looped with cool sounding effects and samples added in for good measure.

What a great night! I Love Techno YYC would like to send out a few thank yous to some essential people who helped make this event a killer time.

First, everyone who showed up! Techno can sometimes been a hard sell in Calgary, so to the 250+ people that came, danced their asses off, and contributed to the incredible vibe: Thank you! After his set was over, Greg commented that you could tell when a crowd gets it, and this crowd was no different. You were responsive and fully into the music, which is vital to creating a solid vibe.

Greg Gow: who played such a remarkable set. It was indeed an honour to have you as our first headliner. Set the bar high.

PK Sound (Clayton and Leevon on the set up!) for being a world-class sound innovator. It doesn’t get much better than that. Throw Shapes Visuals (Dan) and Big Art for their support in for turning the venue into a visually gratifying, red techno bunker. Michael Benz for rescuing us with a last-minute photo session to help capture vibe. Rybo on the strike assist! We do not take the talent we have for granted. Calgary is very lucky to have these people in our scene.

Next up is the one and only Kloves!

Kloves is an ILTYYC favourite, both as a DJ and a producer. Kloves has been consistently releasing some of the fiercest European-influenced hard-hitting techno on their record label "KLVS audio" as part of a just-wrapped "1 track per week challenge". After coming out with 23 tracks in that short time, we are more than excited to host them with an hour set of 100% original material.

Be there from 11pm until midnight for a set you won't forget - we had to convince them to come out of DJ retirement for this gig, so you might not get another chance in a while.
