Did you know that I have an educational magic show designed for schools? I use magic to encourage math ➕, reading 📚, and science 🥼in the classroom.

I am a certified special education teacher, and I’ve utilized common core standards and SEL concepts to design this show.

Wowie Zowie! Here’s a wonderful opportunity to get creative and maybe even have your artwork selected for the Union Fair / Maine's Wild Blueberry Festival!

The Trustees of the Union Fair / Maine’s Wild Blueberry Festival are launching their annual contest to choose a design suitable for use in publicizing the 2024 Fair. Please note that deadlines have been changed for 2024!

Entries should reflect the themes of this traditional agricultural fair which must include, but may not be limited to, blueberries, agriculture, fairs/carnivals, farm animals, 4-H, crafts, etc. Posters should reflect the aspects of a traditional Agricultural Fair as well as the Wild Blueberry Festival. Art work should be poster size, approximately 14” x 20” and should not include lettering, dates, etc.

Contest entries will be accepted from the public except individuals and family members of the Union Fair Trustees and Officers. The selected poster will be awarded a prize of $750. All rights to the selected design will become the property of the Union Fair. It is hoped that the artist will be available, but not required, to attend one or more days during fair week to be recognized and to sign posters, etc.

Schedule:
December, announcement of the competition
February 10, final date for submission of entries
March, announcement of winner

Medium is artist’s choice but must be in color. Remember that the selected design will be utilized in the production of posters and other media so colors must be strong, design bold and graphic and avoid elements that do not reproduce clearly such as shading.

A special opportunity for children’s entries, ages 5-12, includes a winner’s prize of four free admission tickets for entry to the Fair. All other rules for entry apply for the youth contest

Wowie Zowie! A BIG congratulations to the Northern Maine Fair Association! Well done! I hope that the IAFE-The Network was a clowntastic time!

Help us in Congratulating Northern Maine Fair Association for the three Awards they received from the IAFE-The Network (International Association of Fairs and Expositions) for their Contest Entry for a Newly Established Exhibit at the Fair promoting Agriculture. Their new project will be based on Maine’s Forestry Industry. Children of all ages will navigate through a series of educational buildings and activities, as they learn in an elementary way about the industry, from seedlings to the production and marketing of forest products.
They came in 1st Place, Best in Division and Judges Choice Overall.
