The perfect ending to Pride month. It was my great honor and joy to create these wearables; a full floral lapel for Lester and floral bow ties for both Lester, Bennie, and their son.

These two handsome grooms were surrounded (literally with a ceremony in the round) by friends and family as they pledged their eternal love and commitment to one and other. It was a truly spectacular evening.

There is something pretty magical about designing large scale pieces, especially when they deviate from the everyday. I am often asked what happens to the flowers the day after an event ends, and there are many answers to this question. We compost them, we donate them, and sometimes they end up in the living room of a friend who also happens to be an incredibly talented photographer. He snapped this image with his iPhone. It’s photos like these that actually make me stop and revel in my own work, to soak in the beauty of the design. Creative design freedom turns into really great pieces like this. Who knows, maybe one will end up in your living room next!

This year we are grateful for the health of our family and friends, for the opportunity to serve our community, and for the clients who entrust us to create their floral dreams. One of our family traditions includes bringing out the Christmas china at Thanksgiving dinner, it then becomes our daily dishware until January rolls around. We also always serve pecan (pronounced puh-con not pea-can 🤣)pie with fresh made whipped cream. What are some of your family traditions?

The skyline colors perfectly blended to match the florals in this lush, garden arch. The hardest part of my job is the breakdown at then end of the event, not because it’s hard work, but rather I hate to take down all the beautiful blooms! It’s not uncommon for me to end up with leftover flowers on my dining room table because I just can’t bare to compost them until the are fully dead. If they still have plenty of life left in them, I will rearrange them into small vases and donate to local assisted living communities or repurpose them into Joy Jars. These jars are sold at a deep discount (practically free) to spread joy with luxury blooms and gives them a second life.

It’s that time of year, graduation celebrations are happening to mark accomplishments of students from elementary all the way to post-graduate level. In our house we are celebrating Elizabeth graduating from 8th grade and Grace graduating from 5th grade! It’s hard to believe in four short years Elizabeth will be off to college and not at home except for holidays and school breaks. Wow, that went by in a blink!

The blooms you see here were designed for a graduation celebration for a lovely lady who completed her Masters at USC. She gathered her friends and family to celebrate last week. Congrats to all the graduates of the Class of 2022!
