Ullr Fest is THIS Saturday (November 2 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tahoe Valley Campground) and it looks like Ullr will be smiling down on us and opening the season with some real winter weather! So, dress in your best winter gear and come out to pray for (more) snow, welcome winter, and thank Ullr for what's looking like it's shaping up to be a very successful season!
For the kiddos, we'll have a face painting booth, a pinecone art booth, a s'mores station for roasting s'mores over our warming fires (assuming the fire ban is lifted on November 1, as expected) and some playground activities and games.
We'll also have food trucks and an amazing silent auction that will include Sierra at Tahoe trail signs, a Sierra at Tahoe ski lift chair, brand new skis, art, and some outdoor furniture made from skis, snowboards and ski lift chairs.
And for those young at heart (but over 21), you can warm yourself with some South Lake Brewing seasonal beers in our beer garden. Or help us attempt to set the record for South Lake Tahoe's largest ever shot ski by taking a shot of Ullr Nordic Libation (or apple juice or water for those who don't drink alcohol)! Come on South Lake Tahoe - let's show up and show out that we are a TRUE mountain community - Breckenridge and Park City cannot be the only mountain towns competing for this record!
