Now I'm going to mention the "C" word....sorry folks but it is fast approaching...

First update for Christmas is a repeat of something we did last year. Who remembers the festive afternoon teas we offered for those home alone at Christmas?

We we are offering to do this again this year...

How does it work?

I need pledges from individuals or companies to cover the cost of 1 or more festive afternoon tea for an elderly person alone (or elderly couple) this Christmas...

I have a full list of eligible recipients, gathered thru the year as I've become aware of those living alone

On Wednesday 21st December I will deliver all of the festive afternoon teas to the worthy recipients. Each box will have a gift tag on explaining who has paid for their Christmas treat.

It will cost those living alone absolutely nothing but they will feel some warmth at Christmas time and I know how much love everyone felt last year when receiving them.

Anyone can pledge, all all ask is for payment in full by 1st December in order for me to buy everything I need for them.

Festive afternoon teas are £14.95 each and differ slightly from the regular ones as they include mince pies, Christmas cake, Christmas pudding & custard, etc.

Please do get in touch if you would like to pledge one or more afternoon teas and please share so to give your friends and family the opportunity to make a pledge too..

We couldn't have done this last year without you all and we won't be able to again this year without your support. Thank you in advance

We will be back at North Leverton Windmill today, 12 noon until 4pm...lots going on and of course, the best homemade produce you can buy 🥰 see you there

We had a fabulous day yesterday-thanks to everyone who came along. For those who missed it, or want to come back again, we are open 12:00 to 16:00, craft market, wheels at the windmill, bar, pop up cafe n coffee, pizza oven, Flame burgers and madam crepe, along with Birds of Prey, gun dogs, shire horses, stationary engines and JS leisure to keep the kids entertained and of course the ever popular dog show.

We are expecting a fly past by the Air Ambulance and the crew from Retford Fire Station are popping in with their engine.

Weather looking good - hope to see you there.

Please note one way system in operation for the visitor car parking. Free Parking in grass field on the left past Mill Yard, with exit onto Retford Road. Please dont park on Mill Lane, we need to keep
It clear fir emergency vehicles and our neighbours.

The pop up shop will once again be at our home address on Highfield close, Gainsborough, DN21 1RD.

The marquee isnt up just yet but this is a photo from last time...as soon as you pull into Highfield close in the car, you will see the marquee on your right. If walking from the cut through end/Corringham Road, keep walking to the far end of Highfield close and you will see us on your left.

On Sunday, our gates will be open for as long as the shop is. If you see the gates open, then come on in...everyone is welcome..

‼️10am til 5pm‼️

You've all been asking when the next one is, and so we are excited to announce the next pop up shop at our home address is a week on Sunday...4th September. Open a little longer for you this time, 10am until 5pm, hopefully giving everyone a chance to visit.

We will have our full range of products available to buy on the day and accept cash or card payments.

We have a new batch of our branded chutneys and also some new additions to the range...including lemon curd, strawberry jam and orange marmalade...

For those who came last time, you know where we are. For those who didn't, further details will be released over the next few days. Keep an eye on the page for updates. We would, once again, ask anyone driving to be courteous to our neighbours when visiting the shop. Thank you in advance.

Good afternoon. This post is written with a heavy heart. The sandwich van has now been trading for exactly 1 year. And what a year!

However, it is with regret that I must inform you that we are ceasing trading with the sandwich van with immediate effect.

Barries baking will still be trading with fudge, afternoon teas, cheesecake pots, home cooked meals and more. However there will be no more visits from Barries the sandwich van.

Thank you so much for everyone's support during the last year. Our customers have all been amazing. Ian and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and custom throughout the last year.

As I say, keep an eye on Barries baking page as that business is very much going to continue to trade...

Today was so busy that Mr B had to return home for a 2nd batch of sandwiches as they sold out by 10am...there's only been a handful of days that we've been caught out like that...

Want a cold drink or snack delivered to your door? (Within Gainsborough Town only). Pop us a message. We are doing home calls today between 12.30 and 1.30pm. Calls MUST be booked in by 12 noon.

As long as we can safely and legally park, we can come to your street/home. We would play the tune upon arrival, you come out to the van and make your selection from our refrigerated van...

We have sandwiches, salads, baguettes, homemade sausage rolls, homemade scotch eggs, homemade cheesecakes, chilled drinks and so much more....

Just to inform everyone we intend to be round with the sandwich van as normal every day this week. Our kitchen has been crazily hot today with the oven on all day cooking your quiche, sausage rolls and scotch eggs(in the fryer of course). I've also made 3 batches of fudge today for upcoming orders...

Phew, it's hot in here !

However I just wanted to take a moment to let you know there's no need to pack up, as we will be with you as normal and you can enjoy the benefit of freshly made and refrigerated food and drinks.

Good evening folks, today has been another exceptionally busy day. We are honestly so grateful to you all for your custom.

We have just stocked up with drinks ahead of the predicted heat wave next week and we also have managed to grab a box of Mars duo today too...we know lots of you have missed them this week...

We sold out of yumnut filled cheesecakes today, I promise to do more soon...
