Pit Bike Rules and Expectations for 2025 D14 Flat Track Race Season.

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE** D14 Organizers Announce New Guidelines to Limit Pit
Vehicles at Events.
** ** - December 13, 2024** – In an effort to enhance safety and manage rising
insurance costs, D14 Organizers are implementing new regulations to limit the use of
pit vehicles at all organized events. This proactive measure comes in response to
increasing insurance rates and a growing number of pit vehicle-related injuries
reported.
The decision was made following comprehensive assessments and consultations with
safety experts, insurance providers, and the racing community. The primary goal is to
create a safer environment for all participants, spectators, and staff while maintaining
the high standards of excitement and competition that events are known for.
Please note that this decision came from the individual organizers/promoters and the
District 14 Board supports the measures taken, but each individual promoter/organizer
will be responsible for enforcement.
- **Restricted Use of Pit Vehicles:** There will be an approved and prohibited list of
vehicles to be operating around the pit and event areas. Only essential personnel and operations will be allowed to use any of the prohibited pit vehicles. That will include
medical staff, race staff, and equipment transport.
- **Increased Supervision:** Additional staff may be stationed in the pit areas to
oversee vehicle use and enforce the new guidelines.
- **Educational Campaign:** We will launch a safety awareness campaign to educate
participants and staff about the risks associated with pit vehicles and the importance
of adhering to the new rules.
D14 Organizers recognize the importance of pit vehicles for logistical operations, but
the safety of our community is our top priority. By limiting the use of these vehicles, we
aim to reduce accidents and create a safer environment for everyone involved.
D14 Organizers remain committed to providing top-tier racing experiences while
prioritizing the well-being of our participants. We believe these new measures will
significantly contribute to a safer and more enjoyable atmosphere at race events.

Brennan Deering proves that quads like to go fast too. A16 years old, Brennan took part in his first season on the quads after racings bikes for a few summers. D14’s Lucky Thumb Motorcycle Club has been Brennan’s proving ground as he looks for glory in his new riding discipline. Racing quads on a short track is no easy task, as passing is difficult in these tight spaces. But these close quarters lead to to some incredible racing as the quads battle it out under the lights. Brennan is always near the front giving his all, taking home several podium finishes this past season. Racing is a family sport and Brennan sees support from his father, Brad, and some sponsors including DIY AG Buildings LLC, Precision Drone LLC, and J&M Logging

Brody Coltson is Lucky Thumb Royalty. Born into one of the most dedicated D14 Flat Track racing families, this young talent has grown up at the track. Coming on strong in the last few years. The Little Prince of Lucky Thumb has shown the rest of d14 racing world he is a threat to contend with. Brody rides hard each race and is very smart and smooth while twisting the throttle. And his work ethic and generosity extend beyond racing.

After winning the 1/2 mile state championship, Brody had a fellow racer jump on his bike and do a victory lap together. Brody displays maturity while also helping out at the track during Lucky Thumb races in any way he can.

Brody's eagerness to help his fellow riders and make the D14 race day experience better is contagious. It will be exciting to see how this hard working racer continues to grow, both on and off the track.

Jason Eddy is one of D14's most accomplished amateur riders. Dominating the 30+ and now the 45+ class, Jason is a menace on the track! 🏆 His dedication to the sport shines through in every race. He's always pushing for the win, but more than that, he embodies the true spirit of flat track racing. 💪 Jason's loud personality often leads to a love him or hate him relationship with his competitors, but his passion for racing and pure competition is undeniable. He's a testament to the fact that age is just a number when you have passion and perseverance. Can't wait to see the old man rip it up at the next District 14 event! 🏁

Jason Eddy is a competitor. Plain and simple. This man wants to win and does everything in his power to do it. His aggressive riding style is fun to watch, as he leaves it all out on the track. Jason has given back much to the sport be loves and will do anything he can to help a fellow competitor make it to the line. Fletcher Vaughan is your D14 everyman. Fletcher has been around the track for years. Riding everything from DTX 450s to the big and small vintage bikes he races today. Rocking the "coontail" paint job and plate, Fletcher is always fun to watch at the track. Racing in the small vintage, Fletcher sees a full class of competitors almost every race weekend.

Fletcher's dedication to the sport can be seen by both the average rider and fans. Showing up each week and putting in the work gets you further than most and Fletcher has demonstrated that multiple times throughout the years.

Showing the spirit of a truly determined D14 racer, Fletcher battled adversity when his big vintage bikes would not fire. Rather than sit back let the negotiate experience affect him, Fletcher put all his energy into the small vintage class and took a victory lap after winning the AMA D14 1/2 mile state championship.

Fletcher is a true supporter of the sport. Currently he is helping usher in a new generation. Fletcher's own daughter participated in her first ever race last year.

Ayden Kramer got his very first ever win in 2024 at the District 14 1/2 Mile State Championship in Caro Michigan. After battling in the top three all year long, the stars finally aligned and everything just seemed to click. Ayden gives it his all every race and his improvement over the season was clearly noticeable. Ayden is quickly becoming one to watch as the youth classes under go a renaissance of new talent flooding in.

Ayden strives hard to be the best at his sport. His drive for his age is memorizing. And his positive attitude is contagious. During the trophy presentation the cheers were thunderous for this young racer as he got to stand a top the podium for the fist time.

On race days Ayden can be found with his group of race kids enjoying each other's company and watching the big bikes.
