The VDC attempts to recreate this atmosphere, until live music venues are able to reopen. There’s a café I frequent in dreams: fresh food, hot coffee, sweet music. Community! Sometimes, mid-dream, I’ll say: ‘I remember this place, but in my last dream, it was on the other side of the street!’ But I always recognize it, by its qualities. I’d have no idea how to operate a REAL café: ordering food,
cooking, hiring staff, and most importantly: having a physical location! Instead, I offer you the Virtual Dream Café (VDC), which emulates a real venue but with slight differences; for isn’t that the way of dreams? A virtual café can’t ever replace a RealSpace venue; nor would I want it to. But until it’s safe to reconvene in person, it’s my intention to try to provide, virtually, the things I miss most: Real performances, mostly in-the-round, where the audience can interact with the performers, interact with each other, sing along (muted of course, due to sound latency issues), and enjoy inspiration, hope, and fellowship. There’s nothing like laughter, and applause, to energize everyone. There’s nothing like really connecting through shared music and words. Once, in my dreams, I decided to book myself in my dream café. And I did, no problem. In the VDC, I'm hoping to book not only myself, but talented friends, world-wide - no problem! The only limitations will be what I’m willing to dream, and risk, by inviting folks to join me. So, welcome one and all! Pick a comfortable seat, serve yourself the snack and beverage you most desire! Attend from anywhere in the world – no travel costs involved! Interact with others; celebrate community! We’ll start with 1-2 performances each month, schedule forthcoming. We’ll begin with music, but in the future, we’ll have storytellers and perhaps even more. The sky’s the limit in the VDC!
