Inching forward in the dark, feeling our way through leaves, vines… OUCH!… thorns, or are the vines feeling us? The foliage pushes in, I can’t breathe no matter how deep or fast a breath I take. Have we been here before? The path shifts us slowly downward and deeper… a blur darts across our path at our feet.

Every year my wife and I frequent Halloween haunted houses. I think our first houses we visited were in October 2016 at Lagoon in Utah. We visited all sorts of independent events with various physical expectations, think crawling on all fours, and levels of extreme horror with physical abuse.
