For the past ten months, I have been tirelessly assisting and providing support as a lead volunteer across the City of Chicago welcoming thousands of asylum-seekers. I have led efforts in various police stations, helped with endless logistics, pivoted to providing shelter support once stations fully shut down, been a part of the many initiatives led by our extraordinary mutual aid volunteer force, assist with the landing zone where thousands of migrants have arrived mainly via texas drivers recklessly dropping off, and striving every single day to empower our new neighbors by helping provide permanent housing opportunities among many other resources that will help them thrive in our city. 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, 𝐈 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞. Today, I write to ask for your generosity so that I may continue to support Jean Carlos’ family, whom I have been directly in touch with and I’m deeply honored to have their trust.
