We're still into you, we promise!

We (Kyra and Wendy) have been working, working, working in what has been the busiest wedding season of our lives. So many weddings. So much love. So much party. It’s been a JOY-fest.

We're still up for a quickie though, don’t you worry about that 😉 And now that the busiest period is behind us, we're excited to finally have time to spend in this beautiful, fun & innuendo filled place we’ve created. We just love it here.

Fancy a quickie…on your verandah? 🙋🏼‍♀️☀️😎

Alexandra and Mike had their 6 immediate family members (and two dogs) present on their verandah in Elwood, along with Mike’s family streaming in from Miami when they made it offish on Sunday morning.

To Alexandra and Mike, getting married is simply a celebration of having found the person you want to spend your life with.

In their words, ‘we’ve been around long enough to know how valuable what we have is, and we are willing to do whatever it takes to preserve it’.

I mean, come onnnnnnnn 😭😭 It was our absolutely pleasure to be part of it .pisker we adore you both ❤️

Look at these colors👀🎨🤤One beautiful table to hold all the people most important to you, to watch you wed the love of your life. When it comes to weddings, size doesn’t matter. This intimate affair was just 11 guests (almost crowded for a quickie!) and it was a magical evening✨
For Ingrid and Rami, making their vows in front of only their closest family members (and their dog Solo🐶!) was always the plan. They personalized their ‘legals only’ ceremony with two readings by Ingrid’s mum and Rami’s brother, as well as a blessing from a family friend. It was heartfelt and tearful and just perfect. Throwing in a portrait session and an album (coming soon!) made the day feel even more special.
So yeah, it was quick, but oh so meaningful❤️

Just, WOW🤩!!! So many feelings floating about in Melbourne today, but lucky us, we got one more hit of endorphins before heading back inside yesterday!
Ingrid & Rami (and Solo🐶!) made it official last night with a sneaky little quickie just hours before lockdown hit. These are such crazy times!! It was the sweetest ceremony at with 11 of their family members there to witness, drink wine and celebrate (until the stroke of 8pm of course!) Talk about whirlwind romance❤️🌀

‘My wife and I got engaged in 2020 and as soon as restrictions lifted, we decided to elope with very short notice. Wendy was incredible the whole way through, taking the time to get to know us, guiding us through the process and personalising our ceremony. And on the day, brilliant! Big smile, taking the pressure off and making us feel truly special. Now Kyra’s photos were beyond anything we could have ever expected; beautiful, of course but always natural and damn, she doesn’t miss a beat! Oh gosh, we love an emotional quickie! Just because you wanna have the shortest and sweetest wedding ceremony with the minimum legal words, doesn’t mean you can’t write your own vows and cry your eyes out.
Jie and Kelly did not want a fuss, but they did want to say a few personal words to each other in front of their closest family. It was EMOSH 😭This was a 5 minute ceremony full of feels. Sometimes the simplest way is the best way. Thank the stars was there to capture this truly special moment ✨

Quickie location goals ✨ When Jie and Kelly got in touch with us about their quickie, they said they hoped to do it in front of the share house where they first met as housemates ❤️
Obviously, this was a huge yes from us but they just had to check with the current landlord and tenants first.
So, one day they knocked on the door of the house where they met (armed with chocolates) told their story to the current tenants, and asked if it would be ok if they got married at this address that is so special to them. I mean, 😭😭😭.
They then spent the next couple of Saturdays around at the property giving it a little spruce up (you’re welcome landlord) and making it quickie ready. And IT. WAS. PERFECT.
When we started out, our dream was to be a lil’ mobile wedding team. We would turn up literally anywhere, get you hitched and make it look and feel totally magic.
This story behind this location, along with this beautiful couple and their special guests made this the ultimate quickie for us.
PS. A side bonus of starting a business with your good friend is that you can drive together and stop for a couple of glasses of wine on the way home and tell your husbands you’re waiting for the traffic to die down all the while conveniently missing kid bedtimes ✊🏼🤫.

Hiiiii friends 👋🏻 It’s been a minute or an hour or approximately 10 weeks 😬We’ve both been separately BUSY getting people hitched (Wendy) and making them look amazing (Kyra). Think two wedding seasons crammed into one 🤯
We’ve been dreaming of quickies again though as things start to slow down a little and we are SO excited for the quickies we’ve got coming up! In the meantime, we’ve got a few non-quickies together which is always so much fun.
We love that couples choose us as a vendor duo (quickie or no) because they know that they’ll get two great friends who absolutely love working together, who bring the same warm, happy vibes and who’ll make you feel calm & relaxed. We’ve got you ✊🏼

We haven’t shown you our package(s) in while (🍆😆) but with a whole bunch of New Year followers (👋🏻 we’re so happy you’re here) and enquiries rolling in, we thought it was time to re-introduce you to the Barely Legal, Afternoon Delight and All The Way.
All of our quickie packages include a simple, sweet ceremony with heaps of heart delivered by and Insta-worthy dream photos captured by (that will have all your friends wishing they also hopped on the quickie train).
In addition to all of the above, together, we will bring the warmth, fun and joy to wherever you decide to have your quickie, and make it easy and free of a million logistics.

When Rach and Phil’s message hit our FAQ DM’s a week after we launched last year, there were squeals, missed calls and multiple messages from Kyra to Wendy saying ‘check our inbox!! We got an enquiry!!’.
We tried to play it cool to them though. No biggie, you’re just our first enquiry but you know, we’re professionals (but also YAYYYY! 🥳🥳🥳).
Well, their quickie happened yesterday and it was what Fancy a Quickie dreams are made of. They made ethical & considered choices, but sacrificed nothing in terms of aesthetic (hello .boy__ ✨) and they are, quite simply, two of the nicest, most thoughtful and easy going people you could meet.
Rach and Phil, thank you for being the very first to get on the FAQ train, and for being a true delight from start to finish. It was magic ✨

LAUREN + LAURENT (yes, really!) // These two had a secret quickie wedding at an Airbnb in the Dandenongs last Friday with Lauren’s parents as witnesses and their 3 year old son, Jamie as ceremony entertainment (‘I don’t want to go to the wedding’ was said numerous times while hiding under mum’s dress and/or sitting directly under the arbor 🤣 ).
There was a beautiful message from Laurent’s parents in France (read by Wendy attempting to sound as un-bogan Australian as possible), a reading by Lauren’s dad Pieter (who really should become a celebrant), music played by their close friend, and THOSE VOWS (‘You are my love, my best friend, my forever. Je T’aime’ 😭).
They announced to the world ‘we got married’ a day later, and they’ll have a big ole party when the Frenchies are able to make it over.
It was an utter privilege for us to be the 7th and 8th people in attendance at this elopement. And Kyra found the ‘big trees’ right next door to the venue. Literally ticked all our boxes ✔️✔️✔️ Thank you so much for having us L&L. We LOVED it 💕 We can’t wait to meet the new babe. See you around the Eltham playgrounds soon 😁

Hayley & Rob (+👶🏼🎉) had a quickie on their Southbank rooftop garden yesterday! What a dreamy Melbourne location, and so special to be married in your home of seven years! The views of the river and the city were soooo spectacular 🙌🏻
These two went into their quickie with just a couple ideas of what they wanted: 1. To be married. 2. To have a photo of them on their balcony with their city view in the background (including the bridge where they met!) That’s it! They had a small group of friends and Rob’s family, while Hayley’s mum watched over FaceTime from England. It was low-key, perfectly simple and oh so special.
Thank you Hayley and Rob for having us and popping our quickie cherry in the most Melbourne way possible. 🍒🥰🏙

Let’s chat about ✨GOLDEN HOUR✨
Beautiful photography happens in beautiful light, and timing your ceremony with this in mind is key!! A huge benefit of eloping (which we haven’t even touched on yet), is that you can plan your ceremony time based solely on what is the best light for photography. We’re thinking that if you’ve chosen to have a small guest list at your wedding, then you probably have a heap more people waiting to see the resulting photos...so best get that bit right, shall we?? 😉
‘Golden hour’ is that last hour before the sun sinks below the horizon, and this is the absolute BEST time for portraits. Basking in dreamy golden flattering light is a sure way to a happy ending 💞🍆

When we first started out, we imagined hitching people from the comfort of their loungerooms, possibly with some kids running around, the couple surrounded by indoor plants and Kyra capturing every last bit of the imperfectly perfect chaos.
While we still haven’t booked a loungeroom quickie (anyone?), we are LOVING our venues and couples so far. We’ve got a couple having a quickie in the rooftop garden of their apartment complex in Southbank, one at a beautiful Airbnb in the Dandenongs, others in the Fitzroy Gardens and other amazing Melbourne gardens, and today, we got a booking for quickie in the front yard of the share house where their romance began. I mean 😭 We just can’t even ✨
The beauty of a quickie is that you can do it wherever feels the most right to you, on whatever date feels special, any way you goddamn fancy.
The tagline we dreamt up a few months ago (seen in beautiful work here) is coming to life better than we could have imagined 🎊
We’ve got our first quickie coming up in just TEN DAYS and you can rest assured we will be Facebook-ing the s**t out of it. Not sorry at all 🤗

WE LOVE SMALL WEDDINGS 😍😍 Whatever you want to call it: an elopement, a micro-wedding, a bbq with benefits... we are IN. FAQ will be there to make it official (Wendy 📑) and dreamy-looking (Kyra 📷). Just because you CAN have 150 people at your wedding...would you? Lots of our couples are loving the idea of a more laid-back ceremony with close family and friends, some cool portraits, and then a massive party afterwards (by which time we will be cozy at home in our PJs, getting together a sneak peek of some of our favorite images to share with you ASAP😍). Our packages are designed so that all the juiciest bits are captured: the ceremony, confetti tosses, big hugs, guest candids, family photos, and a beautiful portrait session. (You can even throw in some getting ready photos if you go with our ‘All the Way’ package!) Wherever and however you fancy your quickie, we are here for it.🍆

If you’re lucky enough to have a grandparent/s at your wedding, please consider making them a witness. These two beautiful Nans/Nonnas were chosen to be the witnesses at Maree and Luke’s poolside elopement, and they were the proudest, happiest Nans we ever did see 😭❤️ I’m sure you don’t need more convincing, but an added bonus is that Nana’s also have the most beautiful signatures that look amazing your your marriage certificate. ➡️ Swipe for full warm and fuzzies for your Wednesday. VICTORIA IS OPEN 🙌🏻🥳🎉🙏🏻 (...and we’re gettin’ busy😏)
Soooo much good news for our little corner of the world this weekend!! Can you believe that masks outside are OFF ?!?😷🙅🏼‍♀️🎉🎉 We’ve missed seeing all your beautiful smiles hiding beneath them (even though the novelty of the masked wedding portrait was admittedly kinda fun...)
AND, you can have as many as 150 guests at your wedding now?!? That’s A LOT of people 🤯 At FAQ we will always love keeping things small, simple and intimate - but it also feels incredible to have actually have options again. One thing 2020 has taught us is to re-focus on what’s really important - and revisiting those feelings will make all the difference as your planning your perfect wedding day 🥰 What does yours look like?
We’ve got plenty of weekday availablity in 2021 from Feb onwards, and some weekends too. We can’t wait to hear from you and make your quickie wedding dreams come true.

LET’S CHAT CEREMONY ✨
There are two types of ceremony I do for our FAQ packages.
1. The Barely Legal includes what’s known in the biz as the ‘legals only’. It’s basically the minimum legal wording and it’s similar to what you’d get at the registry office except that you can do it anywhere (lol) and it’s said by me (Wendy) so it’s super warm and fun and light.
It’s about 5 min in total, and you can personalise it by writing your own vows (I can also help with this!) and choosing your own ‘I do’s’ and wording around the rings (I’ve got loads of examples to guide you here too!).
2. The Afternoon Delight and Home Run package include what I call my ‘mini-mony’ (cute!) and it’s got all of the above, plus the short and sweet version of your story – a sort of ‘this is your life’ on your wedding day! It’s about 10ish min with all the warm and joyful vibes you’d expect from a ceremony.
I’ll send you a short questionnaire which asks you a few things about each other that you answer in as genuine and authentic way as possible. I then put it all together in a way that gives maximum warm and fuzzies and share it with you and your guests on the day of your quickie.
*A realllly cute thing to do is answer the questions separately and hear what the other said about you for the first time on the day. This is sure to cue lots of beautiful and spontaneous awwww moments and maybe some tears, cuddles and laughs which Kyra will capture with her ninja like ways and make it all look like a total rom-com dream ✨✨✨
Whichever ceremony you choose, I promise you, it will be joyful, warm and relaxed, and Kyra and I will be heart eyes for the whole damn lot of it 🥰

FAQ head office (read: Wendy and Kyra’s homes) is situated right in the heart of Eltham/Diamond Creek. It’s known as the ‘green wedge’ (I mean, how cute!) and we loooove our trees and nat-cha 🍃We’re still cool inner city types when we want to be, but if you fancy a quickie out here under one of amazing native trees, we are totally here for it 🍂🤭

1. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. You can have a quickie literally ANYWHERE. Fewer people means more flexibility in where you do it (lol). We can ditch the heels and find a spot that feels like it was always meant to be yours. Or we can literally do it in your lounge room surrounded by all those new plants you acquired in iso (don’t even pretend you didn’t do that).
2. ECO FRIENDLY. At FAQ, we value the experience over the ‘stuff’. Less people and less stuff, mean less waste and a happier planet 🌏 You can mindfully choose the traditions and things that feel meaningful to you and ditch the rest. David Attenborough would definitely approve ✌🏻

🎊 We are SO excited to officially introduce you to the Fancy a Quickie logo as lovingly created by ✊🏼
This is SO much more than just a logo. We already feel like FAQ has her unique personality, and we love how this logo sums her up so perfectly.
She’s authentic, non-conforming and playful as seen in the type. She’s warm and trustworthy as seen in her beautiful colour. We also love her easy going, unpretentious and flexible nature. She goes with the flow.
And finally, we ESPECIALLY love the linking of the y and the c, representing a linking of arms, and the happy union of her two mums and joining forces and making their dreams come true ✊🏼
