Finding some new to me blooms in the garden this week. Calendula and Xeranthemum are finally blooming. Also doing some new to me things. We had some pretty severe tree damage in a storm last week so Mike and I planted thirteen trees after cleaning up a ton of branches. We are tired but am excited to watch them grow. I have been learning about roses and how to take cuttings and propagate. So I will be trying my hand at that hopefully after the holiday. Maybe next week I will have a greenhouse full of sunflowers and rose cuttings. Oh and my ten year old lupine seeds germinated. 💪👏😱

Pruning the roses while God pruned me…Today I felt a bit pruned. Gently and lovingly I was returned to a season of expectancy, preparing for the future blooms to manifest. God removed from me offenses I had taken on from people who had failed my expectations. He reminded me to not have expectations. Then you won’t be offended. Snip. He pruned off the branch of surveying things I had long ago surrendered to Him. Turns out that diseased stem was bitterly taking over my healthy ones. Snip Snip ouch! He pruned off the branches that had welcomed harmful symbiotic visitors and reminded me that my responsibility to others has boundaries and to stay alert and healthy to guard myself from infestation. Snip. I felt the anger and bitterness fall to the ground beneath. Ahh such a huge weight.
Today I feel a little less grand in stature, a little more exposed emotionally, but the part of me that still stands is flooding with hope, gaining in strength, and looking forward to what my God has created me for to do with this precious life in a new mindset. I don’t want to take my time for granted. I have great expectation, and know I am growing and will bloom from His overflow. I know my existence matters in His scheme and I want to fully serve that purpose for His kingdom.
Painful pruning is actually love, mercy, and restoration. Thank you Lord for the lessons you teach me in the ways you know I will understand ❤️‍🩹

I will walk through the fire but will not be burned. 💕
