Today's spotlight is on NEA musician Daniel Turner!
(A short article using information provided by Daniel)

Currently living in his adopted hometown of Jonesboro Arkansas,
Daniel grew up in a poor underdeveloped region in Northeast Arkansas / Southeast Missouri, he was the first generation college graduate, these beginnings had a huge influence in his development as an artist, his family got him into playing music.

With influences from Tool, Metallica, Gary Moore, Zack Wylde, Sabbath, Zeppelin and many more,
He is now a live looping artist performing a blend of ambient rock, blues, metal and acoustic music.
Having recorded several records found on most streaming platforms.
After asking what his accomplishments were,
He says "The fact I'm still playing guitar after 32 years is an accomplishment in and of itself. I love that!"

His instrument of choice?
With a selection of at least a dozen guitars he says Bella an Epiphone Les Paul Custom ™ is his go to.
Using a Headrush looperboard and a Line 6 Helix LT.

One of his favorite performances has been a more recent performance at The Recovery Room in Jonesboro.

When asked if he had any advice to give to younger or current generations of musicians he states "Listen to your heart / gut / intuition, whatever you want to call it as long as you feel compelled to jam. People will give you a million reasonable reasons in the world to avoid pursuing music. Listen to what they have to say but then do whatever you want."

Today's spotlight is The ShotGunBillys
Arkansas blues & southern rock band with roots planted in Memphis.
With a following of over 7.7 k this power house group has performed all across the nation from the large stages, casinos, Full Throttle Saloon in Vale, South Dakota, festivals, Hard Rock in Memphis and many many more venues.

Lead vocalist Lance McDaniel brings a crowd to any venue with his energetic and in your face showmanship.
He has inspired and taught many musicians including his good friend Jake Lung Music and his band Jake Lung Band Lance's influence can be felt and heard in Jakes style as a guitarist.

Throwback Thursday, today's spotlight is a bit different as we focus on Arkansas native and country music hall of fame legend "Lefty Frizzell"

Lefty Frizzell is from El Dorado, Arkansas. The artist was known for his music career and his biggest hit song, If You’ve Got The Money, I’ve Got The Time. He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Country Music Hall of Fame and will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award as well at this year’s Arkansas Country Music Awards.

Known for influencing artists Conway Twitty, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and many more he was a vocalist who set the style of singing "the country way" for the generations that followed, Frizzell became one of the most successful and influential artists of country music throughout his career. He smoothed out the rough edges of a h***y tonk song by sounding out syllables longer and singing longer. Because of this, his music became much more mainstream without losing its h***y-tonk attitude and persona. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1982. After the death of Hank Williams in 1953, Frizzell released many songs that charted in the Top 10 of the Hot Country Songs charts. His success did not carry on into the 1960s, and after becoming an alcoholic, he died at age 47.

This Wednesday's spotlight is Shad Storey Music
A Jonesboro Arkansas native, he has pioneered his path from the hardships and streets of music city (Nashville TN) to having toured with legend Billy Don Burns Authorized Page and his brother Cason,
Shad now resides in Texas and travels across the country performing many different venues from dive bars to festivals, and other large stages. Shad is an example of a true "Outlaw Country." Artist a dying breed in today's society.
Shad has his own line of merchandise, and recordings which can be found on YouTube, Spotify and many other streaming platforms.

Today's spotlight is The Band Trippp
TRIPPP is a trio of 21-year-old triplet brothers – Treyson, JD, and Chaz Stafford – from Jonesboro, Arkansas. Their unique country sound includes a touch of Memphis blues, Kentucky bluegrass, and Southern rock combined with killer family harmony. They are now based in Nashville where JD is a student at Belmont University majoring in Songwriting, Treyson is majoring in Biblical Studies at Belmont, and Chaz is a full-time musician. They are the 2021 Arkansas Country Music Awards “Young Artists of the Year,” have been voted "Best Local Band" in Northeast Arkansas five times, won a 2021 worldwide Fender guitar contest recognizing up-and-coming artists, and have raised more than $13,000 for Make-A-Wish and other charities. They’ve been an opening act for artists ranging from Matt Stell to The Kentucky Headhunters to Smash Mouth. Their 2020 debut EP and subsequent singles were produced by fellow Arkansan Jon Conley, a guitar player for Kenny Chesney.

From the growing city of Jonesboro Arkansas comes a rising sensation, a young artist by the name of Lucas Tyler from hosting one of NEA's finest and largest festivals known as "Local Fest." Having brought upcoming star and Ryman Auditorium performer Ward Davis to Jonesboro. Garnering attention through magazines, news and radio as well as recording and producing original music. (Found on your favorite streaming platforms) Lucas has made waves throughout NEA.
Soon he will be performing with historic and legendary musician Billy Don Burns Authorized Page an artist renowned for his writings of many great songs for legends of old, Willie Nelson and many more as well as producing his own hits.
