Last night I got to be apart of a very special surprise! D & N celebrated their 50th anniversary! Their children and loved ones contacted me because they all live out of state and could not make it to the PNW to celebrate physically, but they still wanted to shower the couple in adoration. A surprise dinner was pre- arranged and in addition to their meal, the couple was greeted with a table covered in rose petals and a special message on the menu. Then, they were served a photo album and other gifts amongst their meal to commemorate 50 years of love! It was an honor to play even a small role in this! Xoxoxo

As your coordinator- it is always my goal to make sure that I have sharp attention to detail. Early in the planning process- Haley established that she was the DIY QUEEN and there would be small details throughout the entire event. The couple even grew all of their florals! DIY projects are amazing but they take time and energy. Working together- we were able to create a plan for all of those projects to be completed far enough in advance. In turn, I had time to familiarize myself with all of the notes and had a clear vision when I arrived. My title may be “Day Of Coordinator”, but there is SO much more time BEFORE your day that I spend preparing. Proper planning prevents poor outcomes

Ej and Rosa’s wedding day was a beautiful celebration full of energy, tradition, culture, and unity; an ode to the intersection of their individuality. The couple filled their day with personal touches such as traditional handmade clothing, floral arrangements grown and crafted by loved ones, temporary tattoos with the faces of their fur babies and the use of baby photos as their table numbers. Ej and Rosa prioritized the guest experience by way of venue selection, hosting an open bar, and engaging food encounters including a family style dinner, doughnuts delivered by Pip’s mobile cart, and a late night French Fry bar. The night was truly on to remember.

Assigned Seating? Seating chart? Place cards? Open Seating?

I know that seating arrangements can be a tedious task. I was a bride once who got so overwhelmed by the idea of creating a seating chart, that I trashed the entire idea, and opted for no seating chart at all, but I wish I had.

Why are you may ask? Because your guests more than likely will expect. You want a smooth transition from cocktail
hour to dinner so you can get on the dance floor quicker! At the very least, you want to create a seating chart, and allow guest to choose where they sit at that specific table. I have spent countless hours directing guests to their seats, even with a seating chart. They always ask!

It is especially important to have arranged seating if you have any guests with allergies or dietary restrictions. This will assist your catering team in quickly and efficiently identifying where those guests are at dinner time.

Go the extra mile for your friends and family beforehand, take care of them. Your timeline will thank you, your planner will thank you ;)

It’s only natural for me to attract all things weddings and events during my travels. Checked out the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix, Az and came across their event space! Just imagine being surrounded by the desert beauty of Cactus, Prickly Pear, Aloe, and even a butterfly garden paired with views of the mountains and rock formations, such a vibe!

The big 30.
When I think back to all of the things that I wanted to accomplish by the time that I turned 30, I’m absolutely proud to say that I’ve accomplished all but 1 of those goals; and even with not accomplishing that 1 goal, I realize that that goal just hasn’t made sense for my life yet.

I can confidently say that I am becoming the woman of my dreams. I am dedicated to loving her and showing her more grace each and everyday. I am literally building my dream life and I couldn’t be filled with more gratitude. Thank you for being apart of my journey ❤️

If THIS is what I get to do with the rest of my life~ I’ve made it. Ya’ll, I got to be apart of the most amazing q***r wedding vendor experience. When approached me about doing an All Q***r styled shoot, I was floored. I’ve always been a little different than the crowds I’m in. For a long time, I hid parts of myself out of fear. To live an authentic life where I get to love who I choose and work passionately in spaces that accept ALL of me is everything that little me could have ever dreamed of. Is this my “I’ve Made It” moment?

Woke up this morning to 1,001 followers!

To be honest, for the last 4 years, I was not consistent with my Instagram and STILL booked business. BUT, by being consistent, I have found community. Yesterday we had a vendor not show up. The circumstances were unfortunate on their end and we are glad that they are safe, but it did create some chaos right before the ceremony. As the day of coordinator, it was my job to jump fast into action. Before delivering the news to the couple, I took a quick moment to breathe. I activated my resources by reaching out to another vendor friend, that way something was in the works and I could somehow reassure my client. After I told my client, the wedding party quickly jumped into action. It was quite amazing to see everyone work together. Ultimately, I was able to find another vendor through networking. The vendor was able to arrive literally 10mins after cocktail hour started and went straight to work(I honestly didn’t know she was there)! In situations like these it is SO important to remain CALM especially when you are the day of coordinator. Breathe and then quickly think of a plan of attack! Vendors- Please show up to your commitments. If you are unable, contact the COORDINATOR or person in charge, NOT the bride or groom. Make sure that you have back up plans and have communicated them to your clients and have clauses in your contact. Continued: in comments

Sweet melodies decorated the rolling country hills. Bethany Evans transcended guests right out of their with the strokes of her harp, as the mares seemed to dance along the edge of the fence.
