Usually you can catch RUMBA BOXX spreading true magic with vinyl and chalk every third friday of the month at Goldenes Fass, Basel’s finest hang out. The name RUMBA BOXX refers to an old bass instrument of the Caribbean, typical for the Mento style of Jamaica. The roots of the Rumba box or Marimbula can be traced back to Africa where its predecessors are known as the Kalimba, Likembe or Mbira.
