Marriage is not for the faint hearted. I hate to break it to you people, but all those Hollywood, Nollywood, Bollywood and every other wood’s depiction of love and marriage cannot be far from the truth.

Love is a sacrifice. If you are not ready to die to yourself, your ego and even your dreams then you are not ready to marry.

You have to be ready to put in the work! And work you shall. Marriage is a mirror and it will show you your true image, who you really are. When you put in the work you shall reap the rewards.

Your culinary skillset will not sustain your marriage nor will your dress sense or your acrobatic tricks during coitus. Those are just ad-ons. What sustains a marriage is spiritual. It’s prayer.

Every time you or your spouse prays for one another, great things take place in the marriage. But, when you pray together, that power ramps up and produces incredible results.

The day you said “I do” you became one in the eyes of God. Praying together frequently promotes spiritual unity and honor in marriage through God. It is the tie that binds, and one not easily broken.

My prayer this day is that Almighty God will uphold and sustain our marriage till the end, Amen 🙏🏽
