Local organic produce is the cornerstone of MWL Cbus' mission. Did you know that there are organic produce markets all over the city? Since we are right at the end of the harvest season, you can expect to find lettuce, turnips, kale, arugula, and potatoes.

Our winter menu will feature rib sticking goodness like duck confit, roasts, locally grown kale, potatoes, turnips, and more.

Check out some of our local growers at the community gardens and farmers markets for some delicious produce. Support community small businesses!

Dairy free dessert drop 🚨
These bad boys are DECADENTLY INDULGENT & high in protein. Creating a dairy free ice cream treat was a personal challenge of mine after I was diagnosed with a dairy allergy. I have perfected them over the years, and they are as delicious as regular ice cream. No lie.

A dairy free lifestyle isn't easy when all of the best foods (looking at you ice cream) have dairy. Thank goodness for delicious alternatives.

The benefits of a dairy free diet are significant. Especially when it is believed that over 70% of adults are lactose intolerant. Even without the severe effects of an allergy, dairy can wreak. After someone stops eating dairy, it takes two weeks to start seeing a difference in your digestion. It lingers!

In addition to improved gut health and decreased risk of heart disease, according to the American Academy of Dermatology Association, cutting dairy from your diet may also help to clear up acne.

With so many alternatives, there has never been a better time to try out a dairy free diet.

Did you know mushrooms are packed with micronutriets?

A study at UCLA reviewed 17 cancer studies and determined that eating the equivalent of 2 mushrooms a day could reduce the risk of cancer by 45% percent. Mushrooms are a powerful source of ergothioneine, an amino acid and antioxidant that prevents or slows cellular damage.

This mushroom salad is inspired by Vietmanese flavors. The carrots and cucumber are flash brined and mixed with spicy onion, peppers, garlic, mushroom, cabbage, and fresh herbs and spices.

The dish is finished with a sweet chili sauce and can be enjoyed as a side dish or the main with marinated chicken, spicy beef, or fried tofu.
