why Heart & Sole ?
okay okay okay here’s how or should i say when i figured out that there was more to cooking than just knowing the reciepes. Growing up as a kid my great aunt would cook what we called “Boss Hog Burgers”. Those burgers had a taste so memorable my mouth is watering while im trying to tell this story. They didnt just taste good they made you feel good , so naturally when I formed my own family and began preparing meals myself I asked my aunt one day what exactly did she put in those burgers. So of course she started telling me “Well Samantha “ She’s a teacher so thats what she calls me when shes being professional. “All i put in my burgers is black pepper, salt , onion powder “ so i stopped her like “auntie you mean to tell me theres no special seasoning or sauce a egg , onion something “ She said “Well Samantha there are some ingredients you just can’t find on a shelf. “ when she said that I knew, cooking isnt just about the taste of the food which requires the ingredients but the feeling you get when eating . The only way to taste that feeling is by addding more than just salt and pepper to the food, but Love and compassion. Here’s a fun fact growing up i wasnt the one in the kitchen watching my mama cook, or wathcing my granny make those holiday feast, I was the one waiting for them to say when it was time to eat. So i can honestly say i developed a love for cooking which by the looks of my husbands belly and the feedback from several others that feeling and taste are highly felt through my food. Which bring me to to why the name ? Well honestly its simple logic really , I put my heart and soul in my cooking from the stove to the plate to your belly, you’ll feel it. Now as for the spelling well Sole sounds a lot better than foot when it comes to food , don’t you think?
