I hope y'all are ready for my super not aesthetic and perfectly edited gardening, canning, and general life while working full time and working towards two degrees posts. 😄 I am not continuing as an owner operator in the wedding industry except being available as a freelance florist when time allows. Now I am starting just enough tomatoes, peppers, and herbs in February instead of half a giant shelf rack of flowers and it is quite the change. I'm happy here, none the less. Though I am happy I only have a year and a half of school left 😅

I wanted to drop in to say hello! I appreciate all the messages and inquiries you sent me, so I am dropping in to provide an update after I paused operations this past season. I am going to continue to not take on any wedding for the next year and into the future. You might see me around helping with friends and family weddings, and I might take on freelance work again in the future.

My long term career goal has always been to work in public service, which is what I am doing now. I am so happy with my career shift and the work I am doing now. If you didn't know, in Spring of 2023 I was hired for a dream seasonal job with King County Parks and am now in a permanent role in the permitting and scheduling office. I provide scheduling for dozens of events facilities, coordinating with event producers, and working with youth athletic groups for field scheduling. Around the same time I also started going back to school. I am almost finished with my bachelors degree in Business Administration and will be continuing on to earn my masters in Organizational and Leadership Management.

I worked in the wedding and event industry as both an employee and a business owner for over a decade and am so happy I did. I miss seeing all the other industry professionals on a regular basis. The creativity of design work is also something I miss, but I am feeling so grateful to be able to create for fun while working full time, year round in my new role. 🖤

I'm really looking forward to this year of keeping my flowers in my garden to enjoy. My hellebores are blooming and I am so happy to know I get to enjoy these for almost the entire year, sitting here in my shady path.

I'm going to be working on finishing clearing out my studio so that it can turn into my gardening/canning/art space. I just spent my lunch break walking around the garden fiddling with things. It makes me look forward to my hour break in the middle of the day to garden. And when it is light after my work day is done and I can go outside.

The plan is to grow flowers for fun and enjoyment and use most of my front bed space to grow food I can put up for the year. A lot of my shed space will become extra storage for put up food and drying herbs.

I may not be doing any weddings this year (or anymore, who knows what the future holds) but I will still be growing and sharing my garden here.

I'm clearing out my shop! Come stop by this Sunday between 2 and 5 pm to say hello and take home some of my wedding collections, arbors, vases, mechanics, and supplies. I also have loads of dried flower product, wreath bases, and some growing supplies.

On Saturday, I will share photos in my stories of all the items that will be available for purchase (or giving away!).

If you didn't know, after a decade of weddings I've moved on to government event project work, and will not be taking on any weddings for 2024. I don't think I'm done forever, but plan to continue on as a freelance artist specializing in installs rather than continue with doing the whole shebang. At least for now. 🖤🌿🌸

I'm clearing out my shop to make room to finally finish the interior and turn it into a cozy little gardening, crafting, and canning shed. ☺️ I am really looking forward to more summer weekends at home, less pressure and more pleasure in my gardening and art, and my new career.

I love how flowers connect us from a distance, or when we cannot be together. I love when I deliver and see the recipients face brighten up when they receive flowers and see who was thinking about them enough to add beauty to their day. Who in your life could use a bouquet of fresh blooms this week?

The days are getting longer and I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation. Only 3 weeks until the earliest seeds are down for indoor starts so that this summer is full of flowers every week. Details on how to get seasonal flowers through this winter, spring and summer coming soon!

I'll be preordering my flowers this week for Mother's Day. It helps me a ton to plan the right amount of flowers to buy. With the current conditions of the flower world (high demand and low inventory), prices are expensive. When I order early I catch a slightly lower price than I will buying off the floor during Valentine's week. I appreciate you all helping me plan ahead!

The Garden Market is overflowing with beautiful blooms that were grown, not flown. These did not travel across the world. They traveled from the farm directly to the farmer coop wholesale marketplace. These flowers are only available during this season and soon theyll be gone, making way for the early summer flowers (peonies, anyone?!). Come to the Garden Market to grab a ready made item, or order online for free delivery. Today is the last day for free delivery on any sized order.
