In advance of NJPW's Friday NYC show that features talents from AEW and independent companies, they presented a Thursday night Halloween show that featured talents from all over the independents as well as tri-state indie mainstays such as Crowbar and the SAT (Joel and Jose Maximo). The unannounced main event featured a team of Amazing Red, Homicide, Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, YOH and Okada against members of Bullet Club and Team Filthy.

A show like this just proves that the Forbidden Door open earlier this year is still wide open and is not just for a PPV but a direction of wrestling as whole among indies and mainstream companies. This was also evident in Evil Uno making an indie appearance elsewhere and appearances by IMPACT's Killer Kelly and Deonna Purrazzo at other events this weekend.

Tonight's AEW had a lot of major story progressions but the one of the biggest has to be MJF's possible full face turn, as he fired Stokely Hathaway in an attempt to stop a beat down of Jon Moxley. MJF was then beaten severely by Stokely's group The Firm, receiving a high Ego's Edge and a chokeslam through a table from Morrissey. Leading into AEW's Full Gear this change in situation makes things very interesting for all parties.
