Today we are reflecting on the FemmeCon journey and why we started it all. It's been a bit of a tough year and when things feel 'heavy', we find that reflecting on how far we've come is a positive way to celebrate the wins, regardless of how small they might feel in the moment.

We've also been thinking about 2024 and starting to feel more deeply into why we started, what FemmeCon means and who we are doing it for.

We wanted to share a few things with you about how much this community means to us and the direction we will be going in 2024.

Who are we and why are we doing this ?

We are FemmeCon. We are two fearless women living life on our own terms. We’ve made choices to build lives by design, not default. We want to do the same for others. Lend women our strength, give them permission to dream big, to put themselves first. To give zero f***s about what other people think.
To lose their inhibitions, to make their own money so they can make their own choices. We are giving them permission to have ‘big p***y energy’! Self-first is not selfish! Being self-involved is a superpower.

We want to build an inclusive community where women can be free, be themselves, own their s**t but still fall deeply and madly in love with themselves, be challenged on their choices, be encouraged to make different ones, to think about what and who they could be if only they gave themselves permission.

To find the courage to become the women they were born to be.

This is why we are doing FemmeCon.

We hope it resonates with you and thank you so much for being a part of FemmeCon. It belongs to us all.

Today we come bearing GOOD news! That might actually be underselling it slightly. We think it's bloody AMAZING news but we also might be biased as the news is about us. Of course.

The FemmeCon Pod is back baby! That's right! Episode 1, Season 2 dropped this morning and we have levelled up!

We've revamped our style (please note s*xy new podcast tile) and we are going to be giving you hot takes on s*x, self, and other stuff, dive deep into ways to nurture, and grow your feminine power and remind you to prioritise your own physical, spiritual and emotional needs, wants and desires. Yeah baby!

However, that's not all our good news! We have been holding on to this little nugget for quite some time and finally, we can share it!

FemmeCon to be Rescheduled

Hello Girlfriends of FemmeCon,

Unfortunately for unforeseen circumstances we are popping up to let you know you that we’ve had a few developments in the background over the last 48 hours outside our control which means we’re having to reschedule FemmeCon.

We are absolutely devastated but in true FemmeCon spirit, we are already hustling our bums off to secure another date.

As we are heading into the busy season (Spring Racing Carnival, Xmas and New Years) there is a chance it might happen early next year instead but please be assured the event will go on and we will keep you updated as it unfolds. Once we confirm the new date, it will be all systems go once again. We are busy doing absolutely everything we can to make sure a new date is in place!

Yes you are, you saucy self-employed minx.

When we think of the term ‘entrepreneur’ some of us automatically think of women who have built huge 7, 8 and 9 figure businesses, raised capital and are running a big show.

That’s not who we think of when we reference ‘entrepreneurs’. For us, we are speaking to anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit. We are speaking to the women who are designing their own life and have decided to embark on their own self-employment journey, whatever that might look like for her.

For us entrepreneurs come in all shapes and sizes. Ultimately anyone who is self-employed in any way, is an entrepreneur.

Entrepreneurs are:
Owners of product or service based businesses
Those who work in corporates with a side hustle
A creative who is designing and selling her wares at markets on weekends

E-commerce business owners
Life and Business Coaches
Influencers

📣 SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

We are so thrilled to announce with you our seconds for Femmecon 2023, the real, raw and relatable 👏🏻

who is one of Australia’s most popular influencers and co-founder of Ola the Label, grew her hugely successful social platform via a blog, ‘The Modern Mumma’ (TMM) which she launched in 2014. TMM quickly grew with her blogs gaining massive traction by spawning important conversations about her time as a single parent, a teen pregnancy and young parenting. She wrote candidly about her mental health issues and tried her hardest to give women a place where they felt like they weren’t alone.

Through Covid lockdowns her mental health declined and she struggled with homeschooling her four children and feeling trapped indoors. Like many it was a lot and took a significant toll and she found herself comfort eating and lost the desire to exercise. She started noticing all her clothing felt tighter and she was just UNCOMFORTABLE which is how Ola started. 

Mel with her best friend Nadine launched Ola in 2020, pouring all their energy into it. From making drawings they spent hours upon hours in those first few weeks drafting plans. 

Ola became about making women feel incredible in their skin in their basics. It was designed that even throughout bloat or weight gain they’ll stretch to fit. Mel and Nadine wanted women to wake up and look at themselves in the mirror and feel bloody amazing. So they removed the parts of the simplest forms of clothing and gave a new meaning of wearing your basics and feeling great.

Ola is made for everybody - the range is from XS - 3XL as they wanted as many bodies as possible to feel included and not just an added extra.

Together they’ve watched their small granny flat 25 pieces per size grow to a 7 figure business that supports both their families and allows them to work flexibly as working Mums. 

We cannot wait to have Mel share her journey, trials, tribulations and triumphs with you all!
