It's funny how different my girls are when it came to their Sweet 16's. I was able to find these oldies. One was more formal, one wanted a glow in the dark neon party with a movie night. One in leiu of a sweet 16 went on a trip of a lifetime to Europe. While my youngest wanted a cookout with lots of games. One thing is for sure I love seeing my kids smile. It makes everything worth it. Enjoy some throwbacks. I have certainly evolved over time.

My youngest daughter has been baking for fun for years. While she was home visiting from NC she stepped up to the plate and made two cakes for three very special people. She did an amazing job. The first one is a vanilla cake with a lemon cream icing, all made from scratch. The second one was a chocolate cake with a butter cream and ganache top. She put her heart into these. Great job Alexis.

Today's been a multi project kind of day. Working on the florals, centerpieces pre-planning some vignettes, and upcycling some pieces I've had here to recreate something I've seen, more to come on that. How I usually plan my parties is I first find the theme. Once I've gotten that narrowed down, I go on the hunt for the perfect key pieces, if I can't find them I make them. I'm currently working on a very special party, so I need to make sure it's exactly as I envision it in my head. I create a vision board of photos that inspire me and then I run with it. Please share your favorite party theme below and I'll create a vision board of my interpretation.
