Early life
Brigid Jelimo Chepchieng was born on April 20, 2004, in Kipkaech village, Kipkaech Sub-location, Kituro Location, Baringo Central, Baringo County. She was a beloved daughter of the late Daniel Chepchieng Chirchir (Kapchemosong) and Grace Yegon. Brigid was a cherished sister to Vivian, Justine, Patrick, the late Melissa, Mercy, and Nelly. She was also a sister-in-law to Cyprian, Caroline, and Judy. She was adored by her nephews and nieces: April, Declan, Deshawn, Adalia, Adelle, and Dynnel. Her family included many uncles, such as Kennedy, Stanley, Charles, Stephen, Philip, Kipkoech, Sammy, Wesley, Jacob, Joel, Kiprop, Kiptoo, Kipkoech, Kipyegon, Kiptui, and Kimosong, as well as loving aunts like Evaline, the late Winnie, the late Zipilinah, Jemutai, Lucy, Eslene, Carren, Jepkorir, Jumba, Celestine, Jeserem, Pamela, and Jerop. Brigid was a cousin to many and was blessed with a son, Darrel, who was the light of her life.
Education
Brigid began her education at Kipkaech Primary School and continued to Kipkaech Secondary School, where she successfully completed her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 2018. She was a dedicated member of Kipkaech Catholic Church and actively participated in the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMC). She was baptized by Father Chepkuto at Kipkaech Catholic Church and built meaningful relationships with many people who crossed her path.
Health
She enjoyed good health throughout her life, with no indication of illness, until the morning of November 23, 2024, when she was found unconscious at home. Brigid was rushed to Baringo County Referral Hospital (BCRH), where doctors made every effort to resuscitate her, but she remained unresponsive. A postmortem revealed she had succumbed to a brain infection caused by severe tonsillitis.
Brigid was deeply loved by her family and community, but God called her home. Her departure leaves a void that can never be filled. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
