This is our entry level into the UKAWP for wedding planners. But even our associate members are vetted and approved before being accepted
👉🏻Associate members are businesses under 2 years of trading.
👉🏻In order to be accepted they will have completed a UKAWP or UKAWP-approved course in wedding planning,
👉🏻 They will be insured
👉🏻 They will have a professional looking website
There’s no one that understands wedding planners quite like we do!

We are so blown away to have hit 600 followers so quickly!
Thank you to each an everyone of you! It really means the world to us.
We’ve realised we’ve not done an intro post for a while and since we’ve recently had a branding shoot done, you can see what we look like post lockdown 😂
We’ve been friends for many years now and both wanted and needed to do something other than our full time jobs.
With Jenn’s impeccable eye for all things design and detail and Helena’s (me) obsession for making ideas come to life, we came together and combined our talent and skills to create beautiful, elegant and stylish weddings.
Ivy Blu was born just before lockdown 1.0 (which may or may not have been the best timing but here we are) after a conversation over coffee of wanting to do something for ourselves.
We want to give our couples the time to enjoy their wedding journey and to soak in every memorable moment of their special day.
We’re based in the beautiful countryside of South Oxfordshire, we cover this county plus The Cotswolds, Home Counties and surrounding areas.

Planning a wedding during a pandemic may have been stressful for some, but for me it was a breeze thanks to Helena and Jenn. They listened intently to what I had envisioned and then effortlessly executed it.
I was fully prepared to arrive at our wedding and immediately move things to their rightful place but there was no need whatsoever because it was everything I had imagined and more. They were on hand every step of the way; meeting us beforehand to iron out the final details and then on the day going above and beyond what we had hired them to do. I can honestly say that our wedding would not have been the same if it wasn’t for their attention to detail, creative flare and genuine passion for weddings and care for their couples. We will be eternally grateful for the cherished memories of our special day that they helped to create.”

Happy Father’s Day to all dad who are still with us and those who have gone before us!
Helena’s dad passed away two years ago due to a long term illness but was able to spend her sisters wedding celebrating her with him.
He is one of the reasons she changed from planning corporate events to weddings 🥰

Today we have seen across the British newspapers that the limit of 30 at funerals will be abolished next month in Step 3.
Instead the capacity will be determined by the size of the venue with social distancing. We believe this is right, and what we have always campaigned to apply for weddings on reopening, with all restrictions lifted with success of the vaccine roll out and potentially combined with pre-event testing as we are now seeing in the event research programme pilots also witnessed with press coverage over the weekend.
However....
❌ There is no pilot wedding planned as part of the “ERP” despite our sector relying on the results for Step 4
❌ The government plans to keep weddings capped at 30 in Step 3 which is a harsher restriction than any other part of the economy
🚨 We believe, fully, that this is now discrimination.
⚠️ What will be OPEN from 17th May with social distancing only based on venue size: indoor hospitality, cinemas, hotels and accommodation, indoor group sports, exercise classes, funerals, indoor and outdoor entertainment, indoor attractions.
⚠️ What will be OPEN from 17th May with limits of 1000 - 10,000 attendees or 25-50% capacity: all other indoor and outdoor events including business meetings, conferences, festivals, gigs and sports.

Happy International Women’s day!
And our 1 year anniversary 🎉
Looking back over the last year, it’s been one heck of a journey for us all. When people ask us “when did you start Ivy Blu” and our answer is “right before the first lockdown of the pandemic”, they laugh and say “what bad luck.”
But for us, it wasn’t bad luck, it was the best timing. We set out and started the process for a life long dream. We dug our heels in and got things done. Yes it’s been a difficult year of living in limbo but we have both grown and learnt as people, friends and a business.
We can’t wait to see what the next year brings for us ✨

The global wedding industry employs millions of people in every corner of the world. It is dominated by female led businesses who contribute billions to economies. It creates millions of memories in the minds and hearts of people in every part of society.
In most countries we are still heavily restricted or banned from working during the pandemic. In the U.K. we have been closed in all but name since March 2020 without any meaningful or targeted financial support. Couples have not been told when they can marry again, or in what capacity.
We ask our leaders for financial support and guidance on reopening. We must not lose our talent. We must not lose livelihoods. We must not forget the importance of love and commitment.
Will you and all your followers please stand. Encourage others to join in. Tag your guests and supplies, your colleagues and your friends. Tell your story. Let’s ensure we are seen and heard.
