It was great to be back LBMarket on Saturday catching up with many of our old regular customers. 🎉

We've been unable to do the market over the last couple of months and we massively missed it.

Seeing people and talking about various aspects of life with familiar faces shows what an important community hub the local market is. 🥰

A huge thank you to everyone who battled through the inclement weather in the afternoon to talk and support us, we're truly thankful to each and every one of you. 🙏

Chhavi's Samosa's were popular as usual but her homemade Mango Lassi was particularly high in demand. The mango used was brought back from Chhavi's recent travels to India so we hope those of you who tried it, enjoyed. 🤤🧋

Some of you may have noticed that we've missed our last couple of market dates and we've been very quiet at posting over the past 10 days or so.

Frustratingly, Chhavi has been suffering pain which started from her tooth back in December... Despite this, because of her love of bringing authentic Indian food to Leighton Buzzard mixed with taking time to speak to old regular customers (and some new ones) she was able to struggle through. 🥰

But, following various dental trips and procedures her pain escalated to a threshold she could no longer manage resulting in having to take time off work.

The pain now not only affects her tooth but has spread across her face from behind her ear to above her eye and down her jaw. 😢

Thankfully, after a trip to A&E we were relieved and grateful to see a specialist who we hope has now provided a diagnosis for treatment, and we have managed to find a concoction of pain killers that has allowed her to manage the pain again (touch wood).🤞🎉

A mix of the pain which was particularly unbearable for a good 4 days or so along with months of not knowing the underlying issue has also taken it's affect on Chhavi mentally and brought with it a bout of anxiety where she hasn't felt her usual self too.

But, now we have a diagnosis and hopefully a solution to the problem we can start looking forward again to the future and to returning back to LBMarket to serve you mouthwatering samosas and curries and to be greeted by Chhavi's usual warm smile 🤗

We've missed seeing you all, and chatting to people who stop at our stall each week has become a highlight which both of us enjoy and to be truthful we've missed you! 🥰

We'll provide an update 🔜 of exactly when we'll be back, but we're hoping it will be within the next couple of weeks.

We apologise for being rubbish with our updates, but hopefully this gives you a little insight into what's been going on and that we haven't just disappeared! 😅

Remember you can get in touch with us up until (12pm) the Friday before each week to pre-order from us for collection from the stall.🥡

Pre-ordering is the best and easiest way to get your hands on our wonderfully authentic and flavoursome chilled curries which can be frozen and reheated at a later date to get you through those busy working weeks! 🤤

Chilled curries come with a label of heating instructions for best results, but should you have any questions regarding the storage or reheating of them then get in touch and we'll be happy to help and guide you through! 👌

Holi! 🎉

An annual festival which epitomises the vibrancy and colour of my homeland, India. 🇮🇳

It signifies the start of spring and is seen as a new beginning where people can leave their past behind and look ahead to their futures. 🥰

I have many fond memories of celebrating Holi growing up in India. I remember waking early on a school holiday to throw on old clothes (which could be ruined) to meet with family and friends where we would bombard each other with colours. 😆

We'd smother ourselves in oil so that the colour wouldn't stain and head to the streets to play Holi with various households within the local neighbourhood.

Of course, an Indian festival wouldn't be complete without a delicious evening meal surrounded by family and loved ones.❤️

Mum would cook, and I would often watch. Such special occasions would always call for a Thali of home-cooked food consisting of a variety of different curries and bread along with Kheer (Indian rice pudding) 🤤

We wish a Happy Holi to you all.

May you look beyond the past and into the future and welcome the warmer spring weather which will no doubt arrive soon (hopefully!) 🧡

A local street food vendor in my hometown (Gwalior) in India.
These businesses are run over generations, I remember his dad used to serve us delicious chaat when we were young and now it’s his son taking the legacy forward.
I try my best to bring authentic Indian flavours to the stall to introduce people to the most honest Indian flavours beyond “madras” and “tikka masalas”

Hello everyone,

In the evening today, we received a negative comment from a fake profile accusing that we have copied someone’s name and content. It’s upset me and I just want to take this moment and share with you my story.

My name is Chhavi. I moved from India to the UK in 2018, finished my MSc in Hospitality and been on a graduate visa.

In the picture with me is my mum “Kavita” She succumbed to cancer in 2016, and my world fell apart. It took me ages to stand on my own feet again and that’s when I decided to honour her cooking and promised myself to start a business in her name.
It’s been a journey. Moving countries, starting a business, making known to the culture and trying to be a part of the community but everything makes it worthwhile when I see people trying my food and having a smile on their faces.

All my food is a work of honesty, effort and love.

Ever wondered what gives our homemade coriander chutney its unique flavours? 👌 We use fresh mint and coriander with a variety of spices and seasoning which includes green chilli, ginger, cumin, Garam masala and lemon juice. ✅ The fact that we make it by hand in such small batches means we're able to give every jar the love and attention it needs! 🧡 You can buy our chutney jars from our stall on LBMarket they're also available on the menu for our curry night takeaways! 🇮🇳 Note: Did you know we use our homemade chutneys in our dishes?
