About this weekend. This post may be a little on the lengthy side-
This wonderful industry I have the privilege of working in has brought me so much joy and so many wonderful blessings. But for me, the best part ( in addition to being witness to the coming together of families and the unity of couples in marriage and sharing in life’s HUGE MOMENTS) are the people and friends I’ve made along the way. We vendors work HARD. Often 10-12 hour days - sometimes in 100+ heat or in the pouring down rain. Tirelessly obsessing over the details - we planners, we florists, we venue owners - we photographers etc - work hard so that you don’t have to. But when we check out and we go home - we are mothers, we are sisters, we are wives, we are dog-moms, we’re 20, 30, 40 somethings -who want to just sit and have a glass of wine and unwind at the end of a long rewarding day. This past weekend I took a chance and loaded my 11 week old twins, my husband and our almost 2 year old in the car and headed off the the most lovely slice of paradise to share in a few hours of general merriment. I must be nuts!! But while supporting a venue I love, I got to meet lovely vendors and shopkeepers that were welding their wares and keeping in the holiday spirit, a few hours this tired mama desperately needed. If you’re reading this, I’m not sure I know you well enough to know how you make your dollars. But I’ll tell you that if you’ve patroned any one of these business tagged or any other local or small business in your community or someone else’s - that not only have you made our day - but you’ve put food on our tables and clothing on our children - and you’ve enabled us to do worthwhile work where we have been able to stand alongside other incredible women as they’ve run their businesses through life, sickness, love, death, birth and all of the things in between. In supporting us, you help us support one another and that my friends, may be the greatest Christmas miracle of all. So here’s to you!!!

One thing I’m always in awe of is how many of our clients are hiring us because they’re in full swing of getting their degree or furthering their education in their field and need some help along the way. Here’s to the educators, the thirsty for knowledge, the bookish brides, and making time for expanding our hearts and minds. Happy Back to School Season!!! I have this tendency to jot down the sort of “right in the feels” lines on event day. Sometimes they come from a sermon, others from a MOB speech. I once actually asked for a full copy of a Dad’s speech!!! This one though… “be in your gift”. Talk about being hit with a ton of emotional bricks!! Partnership in marriage, business and especially with clients is a balance of leaning into one another gracefully and transparently and giving as fully and openly as you can where your talents are deep and many. In reverse, to receive help and guidance from people whom have a well to drink from that is made up of something different than yours. I’m so grateful for this opportunity to breathe fresh air, be alive in this crazy world and to serve others through and in my gift.

If I took the time to write a blog after every wedding I’d have to change professions to being a full time writer because I’m always bursting with things to reflect on. These two right here though - It’s been a year and I’m still searching for the words to a story I’m not sure I’ll ever be done writing. Kat and Daniel were SO much more than clients - these two are a huge part of my “why”. I pray regularly that I get the opportunity to continue supporting my family by doing this incredibly important work - when I thank the heavens for what I’ve been given so far you can be sure I’m thanking extra for these two and this day. Happy Anniversary to Kat & Daniel!!!!

Taking a tiny social media break to process an untimely loss in our circle. Life is so fragile and precious and I’ll always be beyond humbled that so many of you choose to share your most important life moments with me. If you have a free second today - breathe in the winter air, send goodness into the universe and marvel at the miracles that are in plain sight that we overlook on the daily - the friendships, the partnerships, the beauty all around. Hug someone. Call someone. Forgive someone.
The streets of heaven are too crowded with angels tonight, indeed.

It’s a weird time.
That doesn’t doesn’t make you weird. It makes you human. I would venture to even say that these feelings you have during this season… they make you YOU.
The good, the bad, sad.
Feel it. Love it. Live it.
The hard moments deserve just as much light as the good ones.
It’s okay to feel what you need to feel - when you need to feel it.
But know!! KNOW that there’s a whole tribe out here waiting to lend an ear, a heart, a house, a home, a dollar, a job, an idea, a blanket, a refuge, a breath. 👋

You may not know this, but there’s a radio playing in my head 24/7. Really… I mean it. All the music. All the time. Our logo of a gramophone is me paying homage to how much music has played a huge role in my life. So when I see a pic - there’s ALWAYS a lyric that pops off in my brain that matches the vibe - and this one is “the party don’t start till I walk in” . That’s how I want people to feel about us at their event - that they know we’re not only bringing the party - but we’re 💯 here for it.
