Sshhhh! I don’t want to fast forward Summer BUT the colours are slowly changing to Autumn.. 🌸🍁 a lot of my earlier flowers are setting seed, so I’m busy collecting and saving those for next year.

I’m getting to the end of the Canterbury Bells now but still lots of Stocks to come, Snaps, Asters,Cosmos and not forgetting Dahlia season is ahead of us😍🌸🌸 I think June/July is my favourite because of the all scented florals, not forgetting the Roses which have been amazing so far.

Where I’m at🌸🌸🌸 All starting to happen finally . The Sweet Peas are chest high, Sweet Rocket in Pale Lavender, Campanula Bells, Corn Flowers , Corn Cockle about to burst. Roses bulking up nicely and buds appearing and Dahlias hardening off ready to in the ground🌸🌸

Unfortunately it’s not a pretty flowery post today but there’s lots of new, very healthy plant babies growing happily. I’m splitting my Rannunculus in half this year and I’ve 150 being planted as we speak in the polytunnel and the rest outside when the weather picks up and I’ve saved the rest for spring. I’ve lifted about half of the Dahlias so far and probably another 50 to go. The Biennials are already out and doing well and half of the Colibri Poppies are about to join them. My Anenomes I left in the ground last year and they are already popping up and I’ve more to join them in the next day or so and the Snaps are just stomping on and will be joining the Rannunculus in the polytunnel very soon🌸🌸 The very attractive Dahlia tubers are just drying out before I pack them away for hibernation. I’m not washing them this year, I’m just going to leave them as they are as I heard this is a good preservative …. Then I’ve 100’s of spring bulbs to plant, but I’m waiting for November before I attempt that😅! Oh how I love this muddy season😂!

Very busy few weeks and soon we are heading into August which means Dahlia season🌸 I’ve had a few set backs with the weather but that comes with the joys of being a flower grower, so lessons learned for next year👌Wedding flower buckets and Bouquets leaving atm…Biennial’s sown and germinated and growing well on their way for next years spring flowers. Spring bulbs ordered✅ and very soon I will be sowing the winter hardys. Where does time go?

It’s been such a very slow start this year it’s really tested my patience , but as they say ‘the best things come to those who wait!’ and the last few days things are slowly coming to life. The Italian Colibri Poppies are emerging and look like a bed of snake heads ready to pop. I’ve planted out all the Stocks, to make space for all the fast growing seedlings, 100 Dahlias which survived the Winter are all potted up and sprouting. and the Ranunculus are so full of buds and ready to burst. 🌸🌸

Hello February 🌸🌸 Finally it’s nearly time for the big seed sowing frenzy. I’m biting at the bit , but patiently waiting for 10 hours of daylight, which is around the 15th. All the over wintered flowers are looking good and the Colibri poppies already have buds. Not long not before the field of blooms is back🌸🌸

Happy New Year everyone. I can’t believe we’re nearly half way through January all ready! So far it’s been a wet one and I don’t mean alcohol! My winter seedlings are doing ok and survived the -7 temps we had in December, though I’m dreading going down to the field today to see if the low tunnels are ok🤞🏻 with the winds up here.
Just a reminder those who bought/made wreaths, don’t throw away.
Take out anything Christmassy and replace with a touch of spring ie bulbs, Narcissi, Hyacinths, P***y Willow, Hellebore. Even foliage from your garden.

I’m already missing the light early 6am mornings, picking the flower buckets. I’ve managed 9 months of flowers from March until November. Now I’ve three months of mud, wind and the rest nature will throw at me🌸. In the meantime not long until the Christmas Wreaths🌲

Well we had our first frost this morning and its hardly touched the Dahlias. Luckily they are quite sheltered where they are. The Chrysanthemums are beginning to bloom. I was never a fan but these 😍… and the first picture is after 10 days in a vase. The Tula Chrysannths make the perfect firework flower and this was taken at 7am this morning outside.
I’m a third way through digging up the Dahlia tubers😅💪🏻 and then in go the ton of spring bulbs and Hardy seedlings ready for the gorgeous Spring flowers🌸🌸

🍁🍁October🍁🍁 We have been blessed so far with an amazing October. Stunning mornings and misty skies, which turn into the most glorious days, it just makes me love what I do. I’m well under way with next years blooms, taking seeds & clearing the field. This week I’ve been busy moving the Chrysanthemums into the tunnel before the frost hit. The blooms are just 😍…pics below🌸 and i can’t forget about the Dahlias! They are just perfect for the Pumpkin arrangements🎃🌸

This is what I like to see👌100% germination. Busy busy behind the flowers prepping next years blooms. I’ve still lots of flowers in the field🌸 but for how much longer I’ll have to see. It all depends on the weather. I’m busy prepping beds for the cool flowers. The greenhouse and tunnel are nearly busting at the seams with all the happy seedlings🌸🌸 My mission is flowers from March-November
