When I moved 8 years ago, I needed to find a way to make friends, so I joined Rock Choir, we meet once a week term time and perform at wonderful christmas and sumner events and sometimes we get to do something special. Today I got to sing and record with my Rockie friends in my old neighbourhood at the world famous Abbey Road studios! We started i studio 2 where the upright piano from obIadi bla da lives, and recorded in studio 1 where 57 years ago the Beatles did a live broadcast of All You Need is Love. What an amazing day with amazing people.

An end of an era, a loss of a mother , grandmother and great grandmother, A Head of State who gave over her life to duty. Her afternoon tea and marmalade sandwiches skit with Paddington Bear always makes me smile and perfectly showed her wit and warmth. A woman who reassured her subjects that we would meet again when Covid hit hard. Gone from this world but reunited with the love of her life,
May you rest in peace your majesty.

One step closer? Or one step further away? What do you think my celebrant compadres?
Non-religious weddings in England and Wales have had to take place indoors until now.

Well, I never thought I would find this sort of shopping interesting but my niece has just started working here, so I thought I would check out the range and they are really rather beautiful. Can't decide when the time eventually comes, whether I want to be in a biodegradable box or a lovely piece of jewellery. https://www.cherished-urns.co.uk/

This is why I am proud to be a Londoner. London is rich in history and establishment and at the same time is a city of constant change and evolution, a richly coloured tapestry of ethnicities, religions and sexuality. London appreciates the old, but values the new and the different. London knows that we are more than the sum of our parts and that together we are stronger then apart. London loves you and you can’t help but love it back. London baby!

Beginning next week, 6 couples are bringing a legal challenging to the High Courts of Justice, to consider changing the law to recognise that marriages conducted by humamist celebrants should be legally binding. As wonderful as this is there should be justice for all celebrants. ⚖Just think how quickly we could help to clear the backlog of weddings caused by the lockdown and how we could value each couple 💑 rather than rush them through👰👰🤵🤵💒💍💜💛💚🧡

Marriage 💑 of two gorgeous things here, a truly delicious 🌈 rainbow canvas by Steve Johnson which just makes my mouth water and an extract from a young poet named Elisa Phillips who at the time of print was 16.. Out of the mouths of babes. 👶 if you want to read the whole thing https://www.familyfriendpoems.com/for-all-those-people. We all deserve to be loved, and the thing with love 💘 is it is a great 👍 investment, you give a little you gain a lot. Happy Friday folks

Visited the absolutely gorgeous 😍 Priory . Really enjoyed chatting to the owner John Hope, who along with his wife Ann run this beautiful venue. The Priory itself dates back to the 13thc but the barn itself was constructed partly out of pre existing beams in the 16thc by James Nedeham. The barn and grounds are stunning but it is actually John and Ann who are the icing on the cake 🎂 there is a real feeling of family here, and that love 💘 extends to their clients 😀 I am delighted that they have offered me a place on their preferred suppliers list. Can't wait to visit again. 😍💗💒💗

I visited the stunningly beautiful "Priory" at Little Wymondley today. Could have spent the entire afternoon chatting to the very charming John Hope who along with his wife Ann, own and run this gorgeous 16th century barn and now wedding venue.
The barn was constructed by James Nedeham circa 1541 but the oak timbers date back even further to somewhere between 1265 to 1475 indeed the Priory has a fascinating history dating back to the early 13th century. The current owners and guardians of this little gem really bring humanity to the business of weddings. They take great pride in their venue and have been incredibly supportive of the unfortunate couples who have had to delay their weddings. If John and Ann are anything to go by you would be very fortunate to have your celebration here. I encourage you to visit their website www.thepriory.net and Instagram pages to get a real flavour of the venue.

I love a good photograph and this is a great one take a look at this shot of Helen with her ladiesl, taken at her wedding to Danny at Cheshire Woodland Weddings https://www.cheshirewoodlandweddings.com/ 😍💖🌸A fantastic moment in a fantastic venue.
Did you know that the secret to a good wedding memory is a good wedding photographer. 📸 Their skill can elevate us all to celebrity status. A good photographer can do something remarkable and magical,🔮 they take the ordinary and make it extraordinary. I love photography, I love the opportunity it gives me to see a moment up close and to savour it, to immerse myself in it and all its nuances. Amy Faith is such an alchemist, every one of her photos is stunning, when you look at them you are completely immersed in the moment, like stepping into a Mary Poppins chalk drawing with a Tarantino edge, everything comes to life, you can taste it, hear it live it. Don’t take my word for it, look at her work https://amyfaithphotography.com/www.facebook.com/amyfaithphotography

"Let's get this party started!" "Link me at the coffee shop" and we can "talk, talk" about your "celebration" Don't feel "under pressure" we're all "absolute beginners" and this is just "virtual insanity!"

I love learning about other cultures and associated rituals, this one is so adaptable, I mean it could actually BE a marmite test! Thanks Laura Hurley such a knowledgeable and generous celebrant.
I love the Four Elements or Sweet and Sour Ceremony. It’s taken from a Yoruba tradition where the bride and groom taste four elements that represent the different emotions, highs and lows we encounter in relationships.
💕
The four elements are sweet (honey), sour (lemon), hot/passion (cayenne pepper) and bitter (vinegar). By tasting these the couple demonstrate their willingness to commit to all of life’s challenges that they have ahead of them.
💕
If the thought of tasting these makes you 🤢 then these can be adapted to suit. You could have cake (sweet) and tea (hot) or pizza (spicy) and Campari (bitter). So many options 🤗
💕

All about me
Hello, my name is Dee Dunphy and I am a fully trained independent celebrant. I specialise in wedding celebrations, vow renewals, naming ceremonies and blessingways.
I get to spend my days surrounded by love, joy and people who are bubbling with excitement for the future and I guess that’s why you are here. You are looking for someone to help bring your vision of your future celebration to life, so why choose me?
Well apart from the fact that I hold the NOCN Level 3 in Couples and Naming Ceremonies which was awarded to me in July 2019 and I am fully insured, I have a wealth of life experience; I am a wife (have been for over 30 years!) I am a mother to 3 amazing adults and I really value learning new things and this is reflected in the jobs I have had; radio production assistant for R4, chef assistant for high-end events, computer trainer, nursery nurse and admin assistant. Every single one of these previous jobs has gifted me with a little knowledge that I have been able to draw on as a celebrant, a little treasure trove of hidden information that I want to share with you.
My style is warm and witty and I am full of smiles, I am really approachable, calm and love trying out new ideas and I am nothing if not adaptable, I am thoughtful, intuitive and can think quick in the moment and love looking at life from left field and truly love a car karaoke session with my family. I value; family, respect, kindness, people being true to themselves and happiness. One of my better qualities is my ability to appear swan-like when under pressure, even if my little legs are giving Usain Bolt a run for his money. I am as happy in the traditional setting as I am in the downright wacky, I am happy to reflect your belief system whatever that might be, or blend together elements from a variety of areas - but no sacrificing chickens ok!
Whatever you choose I will be your personal cheerleader. I will support you through the process, through the fun “joie de vivre” bits and the “chewy” ones. I am a gifted storyteller and you will be in safe hands with me, you can be confident that I will bring your vision of your day into reality in an imaginative and creative way and I will elevate your moment to a unique, surprising, warm and wonderful event for all concerned, and because I spend the time to get to know and value you as individuals and not just another couple it will be perfectly unique – just like you.
So whether your vision is a rainbow parade, Kylie in gold hot pants kind of thing or a more refined Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy country wedding, whoever you are, whomever you love, I’m your woman.
Love is Love, I love what I do, and you will too.
Get in contact and let’s have a chat over a cup of tea, milk no sugar for me please. Love is Love, I love what I do, and you will too.
