Radio Free Radnorshire is on the road and coming to Went's Meadow
RADIO FREE RADNORSHIRE ROADSHOW at SUMMERTHING SPECIAL, Saturday 31 August at Went’s Meadow, Presteigne.
Tune in for the live radio broadcast from Ian Marchant’s Radio Free Radnorshire from 5 pm with ‘games, guests, go-go dancing, gossip and good time music’.
Ian, “Our mission statement: We here at the Radio Free Radnorshire Roadshow aim to revive the lost art of radio DJ’s playing random records at people just because we like them, the records that is. We take our inspiration from the 1975 Radio One Roadshow at Mallory Park. The Bay City Rollers were playing on an island in the middle of the lake; hundreds of tartan clad fans tried to swim out to mob the lads; Tony Blackburn circled the island in a speedboat driven by a Womble. NB. No Wombles or Rollers will be appearing at this time. But this is the vibe we deliver.” The Radio Free Radnorshire Roadshow also perform as Your Dad (DJ set).
The Radio Free Radnorshire’s extensive playlist includes records by Captain Beefheart, The Donnas, Stereolab, The Velvet Underground, Jalen Ngonda, Earth Wind and Fire, ABBA, The New Regency Orchestra, Dua Lipa, Johnny and the Hurricanes, George Michael, S Club, Taylor Swift, the Ramones and the Osmonds. Ian, “Our motto is, ‘If we don’t own it, we can’t play it, and we don’t own it because we don’t like it, so we’re not playing it, yeah?’”
