Just a snippet of some of our summer; The boys enjoyed go ape & bowling, sleepovers & football, Lara has learned to crochet, we've had walks & picnics, holidays & fun & laughter.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to my husband Jason Holland for helping us (me) process our grief. I know it's been 3 years but you never get over the loss of your baby sister, your mum, aunt, friend, your daughter.
It's not been an easy time & there are times I'm still incredibly low, & that's not easy to live with.

When Parents die 💔, nothing is the same anymore. We can no longer be children, we will no longer feel carried away by their hugs, kisses and words of encouragement. It seems like life is getting harder because their protective love is no longer there. When parents are no longer with us, we are orphans and that is hard regardless of age. Even though you created your family, the face of your parents is ingrained in you for eternity. All people, even if we are adults, have this living child inside us who wants to be protected all the time by his parents. Turning to their unconditional love whenever necessary, but when they are gone, that option is no longer possible...!!! 😭

Today would've been my aunts birthday. She was my best friend. Janet Shilton was the Matriarch of our family, looking after everybody. She was super kind & loved children & animals. We used to play scrabble on Thursday nights with her friend Connie & she would let me have a glass of baileys or labrini while we played. A massive chunk of my heart is missing, but I know she's very happy with Uncle Fred & she's probably bossing my 2 sister's about. In fact she'd be bossing the boss! 😜 happy heavenly birthday aunty Jan x x

ULCERATIVE TUMOURS( FUNGATING WOUND) Ulcerating tumours are also known as fungating wounds, malignant wounds or ulcerating wounds. The wounds start when a tumour growing under the skin breaks through the skin’s surface. They can also develop from skin cancers such as melanoma. Kayleigh’s Ulcerating tumours are quite rare in people with cancer. Up to 6 out of 10 (60%) ulcerating tumours develop in the breast area and 2 to 3 out of 10 (20 to 30%) in the head and neck region. The rest occur in other places such as the groin and genital area, and in people with melanoma and bowel cancer. Kayleigh timelines hers…. It started with what she thought was a aggravated spot and changed…. She felt alone and wanted to bring awareness to others… She sent me a timeline of how her developed …. Kay being her wonderful self by thinking of others and wanting to share her story…

It's Christmas time & sadly that time of year where we feel our loss a little more. Surrounded by family & loved ones, the weight of those we've lost along the way is heavy. However, it's also a time for celebrating the lives & the good memories we had. Kayleigh absolutely loved Christmas, I think it was quite possibly her favourite holiday. She started buying bits for the children & Christmas cards for them & our parents. We thought the best way to gift these was the form of Christmas eve gifts. Penny received Christmas dresses so to make the most of wearing throughout the Christmas season, grandma delivered these on a visit Tuesday. All 3 children having matching pyjamas & a hot chocolate set. Kayleigh lived these little traditions so it's nice to see it through, even for one last time. Merry Christmas to all, especially Lara, Ethan & Penny. Mummy loves you all very very much x x *this post will be split as I can't post the photos & the video. This is Penny's special bauble, featuring pictures of mummy & Penny together. They light up & are a beautiful addition to the Christmas tree.
