Today's potion is a brilliant blue, as a test for our new dye process! This new process is brighter, bolder, and is even more colorfast than our original formula. My goal for the next few weeks is to get all of our colors honed in with the new process, so we can provide the same colorful coordination, but better!
Stay tuned as I tinker new potions for a new season! I've been so excited for this step.

This Wizard had a blast on closing day of OKRF, showing off a colorful new Demi Devine Bodice by The Stitch Witch. My spring sabbatical selling cakes was a wonderful time, and I've been busy tinkering new colors while the Witch has been busy tinkering new patterns. We've got so many exciting things coming up for the rest of the year, so stay tuned for the colorful and coordinated adventure!

Sorry for the quiet, we've been busy!!
The wizard is off slinging cake while the witch has been hard at work with machine maintenance and repairs, pattern updates (patches and expansions), fabric selections and of course, stashing coffee cups.
We are plotting new updates and transformations so watch out!

Fewer photos of our second day at the Ames Renaissance Faire but just as much of an amazing day.
We met new friends and had yesterday's friends come back again and again for another piece or just a spot of shade and a laugh.

You met the Witch, now it's time to introduce the Wizard Behind the Curtain!
The Wizard has been dipping fabric into funky potions since grade school, when she discovered the neat things that happened when she boiled flowers and herbs from her mother's garden. After a lifetime of Violin and Renaissance Festival Birthdays, she combined both endeavors into a traveling adventure with Ren Faires across the country, ending up as a stage assistant and musician for an Escape Artist, a catapult creating and cake slinging Agent of Mayhem, a leather and bone Goblin, and of course, the handy dandy dye Wizard you know today.
Really, she was just mad that the pretty turmeric yellow faded so quickly... and turned her armpits red (and mom got mad when they used the Saffron.)

Since we've got so many lovely new followers, we thought it was time to introduce ourselves!
The Witch grew up in a community of folks that appreciated a good stitch-up, and has been sewing her own Renaissance Festival garb for almost two decades. Running off to Iowa to study History, she's since grown a family while somehow finding time to run her sewing machine. The Witch enjoys fine chocolates, fine men, and a fine bottle of rum.
It shouldn't surprise anyone that the horse girl with a passion for sewing and costuming ended up making garb for her sister when she ran away to join the circus... I mean, the Rennaissance Faire.
Speaking of the sister... You'll meet the Wizard tomorrow. 😉

Happy Sunday! Today's the day for our final Color Showcase- Caddo Plum!
Caddo Plum had been a dream for several years before finally being developed by request for several Rennies in Oklahoma. Of course, the Caddo Nation had been in Oklahoma long before the Rennies.
The Caddo people were skilled fiber crafters, with their own beautiful catalogue of pigments. While so many purples are Banned from Dress Code, I wanted to develop a purple that learned into the more natural hues that so many cultures had been using for thousands of years before the Royal Purples took Hold.
And now you know the stories behind the color catalogue for the Ames Renaissance Faire! Come see us this April, and pick up some colorful garb for your own closet.

Saturday's Color Showcase shows the Wizard off in their Saturday Best- TMN Green was named for the Wizard, because TMN Green is the Wizard's Favorite Green.
Have you ever noticed that Green Rennies are very, very into their greens? The Wizard is one of those Rennies.
And when you call their name in the lanes, the Wizard generally responds with a bright shout...
"THAT'S MY NAME!"
After several years of training, her booth now writes "TMN" on the top of her work task lists.
Because "That's My Name" IS my Name.
It's a simple story, really, but it makes the Wizard laugh every time she whips up a TMN Green Potion.

The Wizard bids you good afternoon with yet another Color Showcase.
Ban-Me-Blue isn't named for a person or a place- but a rule.
Many shows across the country have varying degrees of dress code for those that work there. These dress codes are often based in Renaissance Era Sumptuary Laws- laws that dictated what you could and couldn't wear, depending on your social status.
While purple is most often the most banned for anyone outside of royalty, occasionally, you stumble into a faire with Blue Law- and Ban-Me-Blue is absolutely the pinnacle of "illegal" pigment. This color really cannot be made in natural dyes without extensive- and expensive- work.
Ban-Me- Blue was developed so that you can let your Blue Flag Fly when you can, in the brightest of ways.

It's the Wizard with another Color Showcase! Today, I'd like to tell you about Whisper Wine, because it's a very special color to me.
The day I developed Whisper Wine, a dear friend of mine received a Hepatitis C Diagnosis. As of this month, she has finished her final round of treatment- treatment which has vastly improved over the last decade, thanks to research done with help from the American Liver Foundation.
Whisper is her daughter.
A portion of the proceeds from every piece dipped in Whisper Wine is donated to the American Liver Foundation, to help other families live free of Liver Disease.
Whisper Wine is for you and your Momma, Kiddo. It was our first Charitable Donation Project, and one I am proud to continue.
