Born out of a post-COVID need for uplifting entertainment and financial support in the Angelina County community, the first Good For Country concert took place in November of 2020. While an exciting, light-hearted night of country music is a guarantee, the real purpose of our second annual concert event is to raise money for the East Texas Food Bank. While it’s programs have evolved to meet the needs of our community, East Texas Food Bank’s vision remains the same today as when it started – to create a hunger-free East Texas. SUPPORTING A GOOD CAUSE
Like the name "Good For Country" implies, we wanted to find creative ways to give back to the Lufkin community in the midst of a difficult year.

In addition to the free entertainment, we partnered with The East Texas Food Bank, which was created in 1988 by a group of community leaders in Tyler to fight hunger. ETFB started with 17 partner agencies in 10 counties and now operates with over 200 partner agencies and feeding programs throughout 26 East Texas counties.

Because one of our main goals as a company is to find ways to engage with the local community, we were thrilled to host our first annual FREE Good For Country concert on Thursday, November 19th at our Lufkin South First location!

Three amazing Nashville artists headlined the event - Chris Colston, Kameron Marlowe, and Payton Smith! You'll probably recognize them from their songs making it on top country Spotify playlists. They played an acoustic song-swap that showcased their amazing vocal talents and gave listeners a preview of several unreleased songs. By the end of the night, we had families swing dancing in the parking lot! Needless to say, this concert was a great way for us to bring 2020 to a close.
