Its been a while since ive put on a gig in Bristol. I’m playing drums in 2 bands and its a bit tricky to put on bands when you might have to play a gig on the same night somewhere else. I saw the Keller Tones in July this year in Hastings. Ive always liked a bit of British Beat since I played in The Hi Class Joes. Every band Ive put on so far has been making their Bristol debuts and this is The Keller-Tones first visit to our city.

Thanks to Bullybones for a killer rocking set on Saturday.
Thanks to Damon and Owain for playing excellent tunes and the bar staff , soundperson Phil, and the punters for making it a great night.
Next up in April on the 23rd we have Pushy Mothers. They will be playing a set of well known 60s covers lfrom the likes of The 13 Floor Elevators and The Standels and many more bands.

I want to say a big thank you to the bands that played on Saturday night . Bruno with Bucky and Piston Dreams both played outstanding sets. Casino Royale just gets better and better!
Thanks to Damon and Neil for joining me on the decks to keep the crowd happy. We had some technical difficulties on the night including one punter who unplugged one of the speakers!
I dont think 60s music was his thing!
Great crowd, great beer, and great bar staff.
Looking forward to next month already.

Next up from Casino Royale will be Bristol’s newest, snottiest, well dressed, hooligan on vocals - Bruno and his band of misfits - The Outrageous methods of presentation. Support is from shouty pop-punk - noisy - duo - Piston Dreams- all the way from Exteter. Its gonna be a wild night!

Thanks to everyone that came to our opening night at The Lion pub in Redfield. The band played really well. A set full of power and passion. They had the crowd dancing their socks off!
Thanks to Damon for his splendid records. A darn good DJ to go back to back with. For the next one we will be setting the decks up in the bar area as it seems that people prefer to stay in there befire and after the band. Next one is Bullybones on Nov 27th.

Mr Cook’s Casino Royale hasn’t had the best of starts with only two gigs in 2020 and 6 months apart. Both our gigs were last year at the Lion Pub on Whitehall rd in Bristol but now we are back up and running. This time with a gig in October and November at The Lion Pub. Details to follow soon. Very excited.

I’m pleased to announce that the Moldy Couple gig that was postponed in March is now going ahead in September. It will be outdoors and an early finish. The band will have to play quieter than normal because it is in a residential area. However it is still a gig! Myself and Owain will be on the decks bringing you a mixture of 60s and 70s Garage Punk, Glam, RocknRoll, Beat, Punk Rock and much more.

As we are no longer able to DJ on Sundays in The Lion pub due to the virus, I’ll be spinning some records on Sunday evening and every Sunday afterwards until the lockdown is over.

I spoke with the band and we’ve decided not to do the gig this weekend. Very disappointed but that’s life.
We had the attitude of ‘F**k the Corona lets Rock n Roll’ but the chances of one person infecting many persons are too great.

This Sunday Jason Cook and Damon Jones will be spinning 45s for 5 hours. Its gonna p**s down and howl a storm but if you can brave the weather then come to BS5 and hear our tunes all from original vinyl. The pub has a special offer on Sundays. A pizza and pint for £10. We’ll be there from 6pm till 11pm. 5 hours of fantastic Psych, Freakbeat and Soulfull Mod, 60s Beat and groovin’ instrumentals.
