๐คthis time of year when the days are long and the light lingers, it's easy to fall in love with each moment of light in the sky over and over again. it's all fleeting and the transience, i think, is part of the appeal and fascination. emerson said, "each moment...has its own beauty, and...it beholds...a picture which was never seen before, and which shall never be seen again."ย
the fleeting nature of moments has always felt so striking to me- the impermanence of change juxtaposed with the permanence of truth and beauty. in i suppose somewhat of an irony, i have a tattoo depicting one of my favorite fleeting moments, and well, i make paper flowers, in a way freezing that which changes.ย
i celebrate summer solstice each year by creating a fresh flower mandala- in itself celebrating permanence and impermanence. i always look forward to this commeration of the season as well as this time of year when the light and the sky hold so many beautiful fleeting moments.๐
