Why do custom cakes cost so much? TIME! This strip of paper and cut-outs represents the sides of a cake for Saturday (today is Monday!). This is part 1 of a lengthy process: design, layout, and plan. It took about 3 hours to find the images, size them properly, and assemble the design "map."
