Volunteer in Fundacion Escuela de Solidaridad Granada.

One of our partners invites every year 4 individual volunteers for one year, who will live in their community.
This opportunity is in the frame of the European Solidarity Corps, which covers accommodation, meals, travels, and pocket money.
They will be accompanying them, receiving courses, and an amazing experience! There is also the possibility to be there for 9 months.

Education in prison offers benefits on many levels, not only in prison life but also afterwards. Some of the benefits are reduced recidivism, skill development that leads to more job opportunities, personal growth, behavioral improvement which is associated with a positive prison environment, and social reintegration.

Netwerk meeting Herpt

De afgelopen tien jaar zijn wij, de stichting Changes & Chances, bij veel verschillende,
meestal internationale, educatieve projecten betrokken geweest, waaronder Crestart, waar we die dag ook een workshop over geven.
Onze projecten richten
zich op kwetsbare doelgroepen zoals gedetineerden, druggebruikers, vluchtelingen en
risicojongeren.
We hebben in al die jaren met heel verschillende mensen samengewerkt: psychologen,
jongerenwerkers, professoren, sociaal werkers, onderzoekers, gevangenisdirecteuren,
wereldverbeteraars, filmmakers, game designers, theatermakers, fotografen, muzikanten,
circusartiesten, dansers, om er maar een paar te noemen.
Wat we allemaal gemeen hebben is de gedrevenheid waarmee we ons inzetten voor deze doelgroepen en voor het vak dat we uitoefenen.

Netwerkbijeenkomst. Welkom!

WOENSDAG 20 SEPTEMBER 2023, 10.00-16.00 UUR.

De afgelopen tien jaar zijn wij, de stichting Changes & Chances, bij veel verschillende,
meestal internationale, educatieve projecten betrokken geweest. Onze projecten richten
zich op kwetsbare doelgroepen zoals gedetineerden, druggebruikers, vluchtelingen en
risicojongeren.
We hebben in al die jaren met heel verschillende mensen samengewerkt: psychologen,
jongerenwerkers, professoren, sociaal werkers, onderzoekers, gevangenisdirecteuren,
wereldverbeteraars, filmmakers, game designers, theatermakers, fotografen, muzikanten,
circusartiesten, dansers, om er maar een paar te noemen.
Wat we allemaal gemeen hebben is de gedrevenheid waarmee we ons inzetten voor deze doelgroepen en voor het vak dat we uitoefenen.
We zouden het leuk vinden als jullie elkaar allemaal een keer ontmoeten, we hebben
elkaar veel te vertellen.
Op 20 september van 10.00 – 16.00 uur een netwerkmeeting in De Nieuwe Schuur in Herpt met een aantal inspirerende workshops en twee bijzondere sprekers:
Manuela Kalsky - bijzonder hoogleraar Karen Armstrong Leerstoel voor Religie, Waarden en Maatschappelijke Transformaties over ‘Superdivers samenleven in Nederland’.
Het levensbeschouwelijke landschap van Nederland is in de afgelopen jaren ingrijpend
veranderd. Het wij-zij denken floreert en het valt niet mee voorbij de eigen ‘bubbel’ te
denken en te handelen. Manuela Kalsky duidt deze veranderingen en houdt een pleidooi
voor verbinding. Van of/of naar en …. en, luidt het motto dat zij in haar lezing nader toelicht.
Friso van Doesburg – ervaringscoach jeugdzorg over hoe je jongeren binnen jeugdzorg
perspectief kan bieden.
Al jaren zet Friso zich in voor de jeugdzorg. Met het schrijven van zijn boek Uit Huis dat
gaat over zijn eigen verleden met jeugdzorg maakte hij naamsbekendheid. Nu geeft hij
door heel Nederland trainingen en lezingen over het ontdekken en ontwikkelen van de
ambities en het talent van jongeren in de jeugdzorg.
Tijdens de lunch en na afloop bij de borrel is er volop gelegenheid elkaar te ontmoeten
en om na te praten. Aan de bijeenkomst zijn voor de deelnemers geen kosten verbonden.

CHALLENGE

COVID situation brought unexpected and new challenges for local communities in almost every field of their lives. We selected local cultural activities as subject of our project: because of lockdown and keeping distance policy cultural activities needed to be rethought. Our project focuses on these changes and all the novelties it brought in local communities, which will definitely shape the cultural life after the pandemic as well.

INNOVATION
Never in our lives have we experienced such a world pandemic outbreak, where all people of the world have to find new solutions for their social interaction. It is a new challenge that needs innovative and sustainable solutions. It shows innovation also in the involvement of the target group, since community and cultural institutions and their experts are involved in the project from the beginning.

OBJECTIVES
We want to equip local community organisers and stakeholders with the knowledge and toolkit to organise local communities’ events, activities in challenging times: that will have an effect on the mental health of the community, also will contribute to the community cohesion. Our project focuses on community organisers from the field of culture, but knowledge can be used in other fields as well.

ACTIONS
Starting with and online and offline research in the 4 participating countries to map the local communities: traditions and impact of COVID-19 on local communities is the basis of the online platform, containing training materials, elearning, creativity toolbox, etc. The partnership also develops eLearning and contact training curricula for cumminity organisers. A collection of good practices will be available for further use. At the end of the project we prepare a Social Impact Report.

MAGIC OF THE FRAME
In may 2023 we work at the Hugo de Groot College in Rotterdam with the documentary 'The Circle'. It portrays two young neighbors, the seventeen-year-old twins David and Sanchez Smith. They talk about their relationship, their family, the problems they face, their mental health, their dreams and other sensitive topics.
We work in an international class with students from Russia, Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan and other countries. All the world problems are present in a classroom of about 50 square meters

MAGIC OF THE FRAME is a 3-year Erasmus+ project on the impact of documentary films on young people's (14-19) worldview.
In april students of the “HAVO voor theater en dans” in Rotterdam worked with the documentary the Circle.
A documentary made by three girls about unsafety on the streets will possibly be broadcasted on TV Rijnmond the regional TV channel for Rotterdam and surroundings. One of the girls involved had a bad experience herself.

Feb 22 -23, C&C participated in the EUDUPRIS conference in Brussels. An interesting meeting with participants in developing targeted policy recommendations focused at supporting the safety networks build around minors, youth and emerging adults in contact with the law.
Ed Santman was one of the speakers and shared the filosophy and work of C&C. The STEP project was shown during his inspiring speech

- Wij hebben twee vacatures

* Per 1 juni 2023 zoeken we een schrijfgroepcoördinator en programmaondersteuner (m/v/x) die ons team in de komende jaren kan versterken (op zzp-basis; gemiddeld 4 uur per week).

* Per 1 juni 2023 zoeken we een zakelijk leider en fondsenwerver (m/v/x) die ons team in de komende jaren kan versterken (op zzp-basis; gemiddeld 4 uur per week).

Wat we bieden:

• Een spannend werkveld waarin we met ons werk pionieren.
• Ruimte voor initiatief en vernieuwing.
• Betrokken collega’s en fijne samenwerking met schrijvers binnen en buiten.
• Een passende vergoeding per uur op zzp-basis.
• Zelfstandigheid.

Blocknotes, schrijvers binnen en buiten is een stichting waarin (aspirant)schrijvers in en na detentie samenwerken met gevestigde auteurs op basis van wederkerigheid en gelijkwaardigheid.

Blocknotes zet creatief en literair schrijven in voor de empowerment en de talentontwikkeling van mensen in detentie. We doen dit middels:

– Schrijfgroepen in Penitentiaire Inrichtingen (PI’s)
– Eigen publicaties (online en offline)
– Evenementen binnen en buiten PI’s
– Creëren van een community van schrijvers binnen en buiten en een netwerk voor ex-gedetineerde schrijvers

Stichting Blocknotes wil het literaire veld vernieuwen door andere stemmen en verhalen de ruimte te bieden en door schrijvers binnen en buiten te laten samenwerken. Blocknotes is een initiatief van schrijver Christine Otten en impactproducent Noortje Kessels i.s.m. (ex)gedetineerde schrijvers.
