Long read but before you make any comments about me or my FB page please read to the end.
I was solely responsible for creating the idea, name and design for the Nut Collector run we had this past October. With the help of Michelle Henwood, we created and impressive event. The main fails were with the extra shirt orders after the event. We did place an order and received most of the shirts but there were a few people that got missed. So, the Head Nut, Jacque Arsenault said he would make those shirts with his vinyl press. This was not done when he said it would be and he actually forgot that he committed to this. He is more focused right now with creating Jeep Nuts Chapters around the world and our local group was suffering because of it.
Now about a month ago he wanted a video chat with me, Michelle, Justin, and himself. I thought this was going to be about our local Jeep community, but it was not. Justin gave us a presentation on how his personal company can help Jeep Nuts grow. I will say it was a particularly good presentation if we were a company looking to grow our business. During this meeting it was suggested we could start a forum. A forum is good for static info like do-it-yourself tips and can be separated into different categories and Jeep models. I have used forums in the past and still have a Lifetime membership to a forum software called Invision Community. I offered to setup the forums and use my license for free. ZERO cost from the Jeep Nuts. Justin did not want to use Invision Community because it did not integrate properly with the current website platform. He suggested he would use a module for Word Press and he would set it up. (But not for FREE) Justin wants to be paid for his volunteer work, unlike the rest of us who do it for free.
I also mentioned in this meeting about setting up an online form for people to register Worldwide so they would have an actual Jeep Nuts membership number. I wanted to do this for free but also offer, for $5 you would get a Jeep Nuts decal with your membership number on it. $5 would cover the cost of the vinyl, envelope, and shipping cost. I was going to make the decals on my own time with no compensation. At the time of this meeting Jacque shot this idea down because he said he wanted Jeep Nuts to be free.
So now the fun starts!!!
After the meeting there was talk in the "Exec Chat Group" that they wanted to incorporate the membership number idea into the current website. They were now talking about charging $15 to register with a decal, $25 with a t-shirt and even a $50 option. The focus now from the Exec's was shifting towards global chapters. At this time, I mentioned to Jacque that I just wanted to focus on local NB Jeep Nuts events and fundraisers. All he said to me was “Sure run with it”, and he made me an admin on the Jeep Nuts NB page.
So as some of you know I was the VP of The NB Jeep Club for the past year and a half. When I left that position, Jacque came to me and asked if I would join the “Amigos”. This was a small group of Jeep Nuts members that helped grow Jeep Nuts and organize events. I agreed and shortly after I was added to the “Amigos” another group was created called “The Execs.” Jacque created this group because there were a few people in the “Amigos” that he did not want there anymore but rather than tell them he created another chat. (And they are still in the Amigos) So now there was talk about having a President, Vice President and so on. Jacque was going to be the Pres and he asked me if I would be the VP and at this time asked Michelle to be the Admin/Secretary. Then for no reason that I was, and still am not, aware of, Jacque said that Justin wanted to be VP. Then asked Michelle if she wanted to be VP. Doing all this behind my back for some reason. When I found out I really did not care I just told Jacque I did not want to be on the exec committee, that I would just focus on the Nut Collector. Again he just said, “run with it.”
So now I was told yesterday morning that Jacque posted the Nut Collector was going to be hosted in St Stephen next year. We had already discussed this and agreed it would stay in Moncton because we can handle larger crowds with more advanced trails. We were planning on having a separate run for St Stephen and come up with a new name for that run and have it yearly. So I messaged Jacque and Damien who runs the Jeep Nuts South West page and said that I was not moving the Nut Collector run. This was a run that I created. It was not created by the Jeep Nuts. And besides our sponsors the only person that really helped me was Michelle Henwood.
So I created the Nut Collector page as a single point of info for anyone to see not just members of the Private Jeep Nuts group. So then Jacque decides he is going to boot a few people from the Jeep Nuts page. Funny that the only thing these people did wrong was call him out on his current decisions in a private chat, not in public view. And then he sends me a message warning me that if I do not take down the Nut Collector page that he would boot me too.
I am sorry but I am not walking away from something I created. I also left the NB Jeep Club because of drama; I was told Jeep Nuts was drama free and it used to be. But with one person being able to boot people as he sees fit just because you don’t agree with him or because someone’s ex doesn’t want their past partner in the group, is not right.
To have members of Jeep Nuts call me an as***le and trying to cause s**t here without knowing what really was going on is very disappointing. I also find it funny how you can have a person so set about dis-proving anything Covid related on the Government site but will blindly follow someone and believe every word that comes out of their mouth.
