Lord Echo Bio:
Known previously for his role as a founding member of infamous New Zealand Reggae band The Black Seeds, Lord Echo stepped into his own with his release of his 2010 debut album Melodies. With it’s effortless mixture of Funk, Dub, Latin, and Disco sounds, (including a dynamite cover ofSister Sledge’s “Thinking Of You”), the album slow burned it’s way to worldwide acclaim being championed by Gilles Peterson and beyond... quickly finding itself garnering big buzz on hundreds of music blogs worldwide. This is his NYC debut!
Mobius Collective:
The Mobius Collective is a group of musicians/producers that exist both in NYC & PR, with members originating from both areas as well as a continuously expanding network of international artist. Brooklyn based Saxophonist Troy Simms founded the collective in 02′ during a residency at Enlaces Cafe in Viejo San Juan & has since continued to develop the concepts expansion into new realms.
The music is always reflective of the members participating as the NYC Collective has a Jazz, Afro-beat, Hip-Hop, DUB emphasis. The PR collective has more of a Afro-Latin Jazz, Funk, Bomba Breaks vibe.
Greenwood Rhythm Coalition:
The flagship operation of the Names You Can Trust label, the Coalition is produced, directed and overseen by partners Monk-One and E’s E and incorporates an army of funky studio musicians. Their unique hybrid of Latin & Caribbean rhythms, B-Boy breaks, live instrumentation and studio wizardry have earned their vinyl releases critical acclaim amongst the DJs and mass appeal on the dance floor.
