I’m gonna be real for a second…

Jayla and Jamontrae’s wedding film was 80% complete…
But as I played it back from the beginning for the 11th time, it just didn’t HIT me in the feels or make me SMILE like it did when I was there filming it in real-time.

So I started over. And you know what?
It’s SO much better.

I can’t wait to get it sent out to them later this week. 🤗

I put so much effort into editing my couples’ wedding films. I don’t have a specific “template” I use when putting together a video…I rewatch all of the footage from the day, make note of the best parts, and find all of the funny and emotional “in-between” moments they’re going to want to remember.

But sometimes I get halfway through editing a wedding film and despite taking the time to handpick every part and choosing music that fits, I decide that it’s not just not quite up to my standards.

And I start over.

Because I’m not going to send you a subpar edit of your wedding day. I’m not going to rush an edit or slap it together because I’m almost done.

One of my favorite parts of video editing is reliving your day all over again through all the footage I sort through - so why would I half-ass that part??

My favorite thing about their wedding was how much love POURED from their family and friends. Elizabeth and Jay had been together 8 years (or was it 7, by Jay's count hah) and everyone was so excited that it was finally time to celebrate the relationship that they had built and the amazing people that they were.

Lifestyle photographer turned videographer who left still images behind to film the fleeting moments as they happen…

As a lifestyle portrait and wedding photographer for many years, I quickly realized that my favorite thing about what I did was catching those fleeting moments, the emotions that shown even from the most stubborn of family members (I'm look at you Dad), and the reactions that go by too quickly. So, I left the still images of photography behind and started filming.

The intimidating thing about starting all over is figuring out what to call your work. The word “Brindle” is inspired by my brindle rescue, Juno - also referred to as Junebug, Monkey, or Monk. Don’t ask why. She’s taught me to love unconditionally and sparks joy in my life daily.

The word “Imagery” is a descriptive type of art. The videos I produce allow you to see, feel, and hear what’s going on. The images I capture tell a story. The content I film draws everything together.
