Many of you might have noticed the change to our business name. Many of you who know us personally recognize the reason for this change.

This was a huge decision for us. And we feel very confident and proud of this change. Let me explain why in this short Bio about Little Paper Heart that we have added in the "About Us" section of our website.

Little Paper Heart

They say that real love stories never end, we know this to be true. It’s been months since we lost our first child due to a miscarriage. And though we never heard him or her cry, never got to hold it close, never got to kiss its face, we remember the only tangible evidence that it was ours. Our baby’s heart. And how from the first time we heard it through a sonogram, it changed our lives forever, and it became our most favorite song. The most perfect melody we’d ever heard.

We thought it appropriate to rename our business to Little Paper Heart to serve as remembrance. That though a paper heart can seem fragile and easily destructible it is capable of enduring, of bearing, of withstanding. And that though the world might not be able to hear the beating heart of the child we lost, it remains playing on an infinite loop in our own hearts forever.

Yes, it’s true that the words a “Little Paper Heart” invoke the feeling that the heart is frail. That it’s simply too feeble. But you forget that it was once a part of something bigger. It was a whole page. Who endured cuts and tears, who brazed the fire, to unfold into what it was always meant to be, a heart that will never be broken because it’s learned how to bend.

Inside each human heart there are treasures to be unlocked, every heart has a story to tell. And we hope that through photographs and moments we can capture yours. After all, we are all just paper hearts, fluttering through the wind.
