Goggles and Gadgets Geek culture inspired conventions

I just wanted to give you all a heads up, I am postponing Creation Convention due to all the other Conventions postponing or cancelling theirs and I wouldn't be able to promote it very well and two, the governor has banned gatherings of 500 people or more. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I do still plan on having it, I'm just not sure when. I will keep you updated.

Clinton T. Hobart is a Fine Artist and Licensed Disney Fine Artist. He creates original oil paintings of a wide variety of subjects ranging from classical subject matter such as fruit and eggshells to more modern subjects such as Mickey Mouse and Doritos.

Even his Disney paintings are technically still-lifes, because he works from real objects in front of him. If he cannot find the objects he desires to paint he frequently will build elaborate "Sets" to work from. For his painting of the tower from the Disney movie Tangled he constructed a four foot tall replica of it made out of stone, mortar, cardboard, plaster and wood. The sculpture has since become as popular as the actual painting.

In addition to painting for Disney, Hobart also paints still-lifes, portraits, cosplay paintings, and ocean waves. He has been featured on NBC News, FOX News, The CW, ABC News, and American Artist magazine.

He appeared on CBS News with Scott Pelle after a Chinese company sold forged copies of his paintings online. Afterward, the Huffington Post mentioned the story in an article stating that Clinton was part of a “sting operation.” Hobart’s painting “A Portrait of Doritos” is in the private collection of actor Michael Rooker from Guardians Of The Galaxy and The Walking Dead.

Hi everyone! I am currently working on putting the first convention together. Here are the details:

Creation Convention
Red Lion Hotel
Albany, NY
10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Setup: 8:00 am
Vendor Fee: $100
Electricity and wifi is included but if you can bring your own cord that would be great. Also like I said electricity is included but if you need a power drop it's $25.

I am aiming for April 25th right now.

If you would like to be involved in any capacity (vendor, guest, volunteer, promoter, marketing, etc.) let me know!

We are a creative group of people who are looking to hold conventions that nurture an imaginative environment for people to build and perform, cosplay, artwork, home furnishings, and performances inspired by geek culture in a family friendly environment.

We. Think. Big!

We are people who like to create things that are HUGE! We push the envelope, go big or go home, because life is too short to think small. We hope you enjoy our conventions and look forward to seeing you at the next one!

We are also looking for people to be involved in any capacity with our events. If you are interested in being a part of something truly spectacular, feel free to reach out to us!
