We have to shout out a very special couple from this past weekend!

So many challenges came up due to the weather. They had to move their rooftop ceremony inside, the venue was without power, the DJ had to find a replacement, a new videographer had to be booked last minute...but you would never know any of that based on these photos.

We always say almost anything can be solved and our team proved that this weekend. We did everything in our power to remove as much stress as possible and make all the problems go unnoticed once the ceremony began. The family, venue staff, and wedding party stepped up and it was truly a team effort. But that's not what we want to talk about....we want to talk about these 2!

The bride and groom showed such grace, kindness, flexibility, and perseverance in the face of all of these challenges. No matter the stress level they trusted our team, remained kind and collected, and powered through. They had an amazing party for sure! Once the ceremony began, none of the stress of the day mattered. They focused on each other and their love and let the logistics fall away. Everything turned out beautifully. This will be a great story for them and for us.

We will always remember these 2!

Please be kind to your wedding vendors 💕

I just want to be completely honest.. entering busy season has me absolutely terrified. It’s not til you are being told that their photos are more important than my life, health and well being that it really messes with a person. I remember pushing myself so badly I had to have surgery on my back, I remember messing up my sleep schedule so badly I was manic. I spent the last two years of my college life dedicated to the wedding industry. instead of going out.. I went to weddings. and while it has allowed me to meet some of the most amazing people ever, it also has allowed me to meet some not so amazing people.

I think a lot of people see my work and forget that i’m 23 years old. Your 20s are the time you are supposed to make mistakes and give yourself a little grace while at it. Your supposed to learn from them, grow from them and be better because of them. The wedding industry is a tricky place and while all of me wishes I could edit photos super duper fast,

it’s. just. not. realistic. Before graduating therapy I promised my therapist that I would never put photos over my physical and mental health, I think it’s the only reason she still supports me in the industry.

I will never hide who I am just because some don’t see it as “professional” I’m 23, I have severe depression and I also have an ostomy bag. These just touch the border of my chronic illnesses. yet I promised 10 year old tylar that I wouldn’t let these chronic illnesses stop me from dreams.

So what’s the point in all this, I guess part of me just asks that you give your photographer friends a little grace, hug them, thank them, let them know they are appreciated.. even if they mess up. Your feelings are valid but telling someone that photos are more important than their physical health.. well it’s kinda wrong. I was in and out of the hospital and I refused to let them admit me because I needed to edit. people counted on me.

So many of your photographer friends have families, have kids, have chronic illnesses, have a life outside of the job. please just.. try to remember that and try to be understanding of such.

to my photographer friends, be kind to yourself, lean on others and try your damn hardest not to get burnt out because despite what one person said.. I and so many other people appreciate you!🫶🏽
