🪷 Just a little something to take the edge off.
I have always felt drawn to the lotus flower, even long before becoming a floral designer🪷
Being an art enthusiast, I was intrigued by their hypnotic, symmetrical beauty and whimsical presence. I understood why Monet painted them over and over again like a religious practice.
Being drawn to Buddhism and Hinduism I was guided to them again, which led to matching mama/ daughter tattoos with my mama.
The lotus represents femininity, spiritual awakening and resilience. It is used as a meditation visual to guide oneself towards mental clarity and inner peace.
For the lotus flower grows through muddy and murky waters but always emerges pristine.
For me, my floral design is a meditative practice. It helps me navigate life's muddy waters so that I too can bloom through them. For everything that I create is in return creating me. 🪷

☀️Sunshine like Honey 🍯
Savoring these golden hour photos of this warm spring palette from this warm spring day because it feels like time is escaping me.
Was trying to think of a caption that captures the energy of these photos, then I realized they are already poetic all on their own.
Loved putting a tablescape together that was truly... Me.
Plucked my favorite tulips from the garden, used my favorite brass holders and vessels and had to utilize my favorite flea market find- iridescent brunch wear. 🌈

Another look at this delicious lil babe Chef- John Wojnarski made for FCFC'S 4th birthday/ anniversary.
This lil cake was created utilizing fresh, local strawberries and rhubarb, and adorned with the most perfect edible flowers from !
I was able to pair it with the most delicious Rose' suggested by the great folks at !
It was the perfect combination to celebrate another milestone.
Another year celebrating all of my fabulous clients and their endeavors. Another year doing what I love.

‼️ 🎆 It's official so let me reintroduce myself!....✨Stefanie Rutherford ✨AIFD✨,cfd, cf.
I have officially been induced into the AIFD ( American Institute of Floral Designers) family!
What a rush! This has been a long time coming!
Since I started going to our MI state convention in 2015 and got certified therein 2018, I then heard about the national AIFD convention and certification. I knew it was something to put on the bucket list but never did I think I would have the nerve to follow through. Seeing how absolutely incredible each and every AIFD designer was I didn't know if my skills could hold up to their level of creativity and standard. I mean these people are the best of the best!!!!!!
After attending my first AIFD symposium in Chicago 2023 I knew it was time! From that moment I had one year to get my self and skills together to test at the following year's symposium in Orlando 2024. I got my book, I had a whole list of mentors, and I made it happen. Surprising myself (but no one else, because they knew I could do it) I passed on my first try!
From there I had to wait another whole year till now, Palm Springs 2025, to be induced into one of the world's finest organizations, AIFD!!
From admiring all of these impeccable designers to now being able to call myself one of them..... Leaves me speechless.
Although AIFD is the highest certification you can get in floral design, this is not the end but, the beginning. This is a stepping stone to all of the other incredible things to come in the future. It is encouragement to keep trying new things, pushing myself further, and to chase every single dream I have, because with this incredible family behind me.... Anything and everything is possible.
I am proud to be AIFD.
I have to say a special, heartfelt thank you to my mentors....
( Especially )..for seeing something in me and pushing me towards new heights, for broadening my horizons, for passing on their knowledge and for being a pillar to lean on. You all have changed my life in the most important ways.

Now... What's next 😉

✨ Imagine..... Walking down this whimsical aisle, meeting your partner under this colorful arbor. You say your I Do's. You are surrounded by your favorite people. The sun is shining. Life is good. ✨
I am still completely hung up on this whimsical ceremony set up for R& E. I think it will take me a lifetime to get over this one.

🍋 🍊 There is just something about these tulips, citrus and these linens that just make my heart sing!
Nothing like a little pick me up on a rainy day.
