They both rely on seeds! While Tahini needs sesame seeds, we depend on seed investors.

On 16th September, our investor Activate Studio is hosting an intimate gathering for us at St Ethelburga’s Centre, near Liverpool Street Station, London, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.

This gathering is a unique opportunity for potential investors to meet and learn about Hey! Food is Ready as we embark on our seed round. Plus, you’ll get to enjoy delicious Brazilian and Syrian dishes prepared by our talented chefs.

Chef Jen grew up working in her family‘s Chinese takeaway in Birmingham, which provided her with the skills and experience to create her catering business using fresh, high-quality ingredients.

Each dish on her menu is crafted with love, care, and attention, offering you the most authentic experience with every bite.

Last week, we had a great time catering for ’s “Wray Forward Workshop: Community is Everything” at x+why with a selection of Caribbean food prepared by our Chef Shaloma.

This workshop explored the pivotal role of community in the success of businesses.

👩🏿‍🍳Born and raised in South London with Caribbean heritage, is passionate about the culinary arts. With over 11 years of experience in the industry, she has trained at Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen and Jamie Oliver’s Italian. She has served a wide array of private clients, from high-net-worth individuals and football players to everyday customers.

For this occasion, Chef Shaloma prepared the following Caribbean dishes:

Last weekend, we had a wonderful time catering for the Startup Discovery School ‘Climate Innovator’ Lambeth Hackathon for women in STEM.

The event was designed to bring together young women, fostering innovation and collaboration to address local environmental challenges. Participants worked in teams to develop green business solutions.

Over these two days, we provided a selection of food ranging from Chinese, Vietnamese to Malaysian to Greek cuisines, prepared by our talented cooks from those cultural backgrounds.

Our menu included a variety of foods made by & & , such as:

This week we had a great time catering for community cultural event, the Eid al-Fitr celebration.

☪️Eid al-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims worldwide to mark the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.

We invited our Syrian chef Majeda from to cater for the occasion, and she also shared some cultural traditions with the residents at Ark.

Majeda is more than just a chef—she’s a human rights and feminist activist. She strongly believes in the power of food to foster connection and empathy, stating, ‘When you share food with people, they will care more about you and listen to you.’

🌍Yesterday was World Heritage Day, it is a day dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage for future generations.

We had the great pleasure of catering for the Founders Forum on this occasion with a selection of food from around the world, including Malaysian, Indian, and Greek cuisines. It was a wonderful celebration of workplace diversity.

This year, we’re excited to return to Durham University Student Union in collaboration with the International Students‘ Association (ISA) for the World Fest celebration.

🌍There will be over 20 cultural stalls run by students representing more than 70 different countries and cultures from across the globe. Each stall will offer plenty of activities to participate in, including arts and crafts, quizzes, and traditional games.

🍜In addition to the cultural stalls, we will also be inviting chefs from around the world, residing in Durham and Newcastle, to showcase the food cultures of Italy, Korea, Morocco, and the Caribbean.

Growing up in a home where food was the centerpiece, her mom's early baking lessons sparked her love for cooking at just 5 years old. 🍰

Zambia's rich food traditions, such as preserving produce and making Munkoyo, a local drink, deeply influenced her. She adores buying fresh fruits and veggies from the local market, embracing Zambia's eco-friendly food habits. 🍏🌽🐟

Though she started in a different field with a science degree, her heart was always in food. From mining to cakes and catering, she now empowers underprivileged women with culinary and business skills. Since moving to the UK in 2019, she's been on a mission to share Zambia's flavors. 🌍✨

This Thursday is the last of our free summer holiday activities for kids. Join our pots and plants session funded by Oasis Plants where each child takes home their very own fruit bush 🍓.
