I cannot believe I haven't shared this day with you all yet!! Ben & Casey said "I Do" at the GORGEOUS Hotel Millwright back in May. One of my favorite things about their day was how comfortable they were just hanging out with one another in front of the camera! The day felt so relaxed and stress free, just how a wedding day should be. Their ceremony was extremely personal and their vows spoke so well of their love for each other and those who came to support them on their special day.❤

Kalyn & Cody finally said I do at The Barn at Brophy Creek Farm in September! The day started out with rain (which is good luck on your wedding day🤞), but Kalyn, Cody, their family and friends, and the amazing Brophy Creek team quickly transitioned their outdoor ceremony to the greenhouse.🤩 The rain came to a stop at just the right time, and it was such a beautiful day and celebration of their love! Not to mention that they booked with me in the beginning of 2020, so it was extra exciting to me to finally celebrate them! ❤

It’s okay to not enjoy wedding planning.

It’s okay to find it all stressful and to be thankful when it’s all over.

It’s okay to outsource all of the work and have someone else do the planning for you. It’s okay to not take on a bunch of DIY projects and just pay the extra to make life easier.

And you know what else? It’s also okay to love every single second on planning and to feel a wave of sadness the morning after your wedding - when you wake up and there’s nothing left to plan and no vendors to check in with.

All of those feelings are valid and reasonable. So just because someone else is loving wedding planning, doesn’t mean that you have to. Cut yourself some slack, and give yourself even more grace. This planning s**t is hard.

We had our first wedding shower over the weekend - and now it officially feels like we’re getting married! 👩🏻‍❤️‍👨🏼

I know that sounds silly, but maybe some of you other brides out there can relate… Sometimes the whole getting married and planning a wedding thing seems so far off and like there’s so much to do in between that it doesn’t seem real. Like you really aren’t a “bride to be,” but rather just a stressed out human who bought an expensive white outfit for an event in the future 😅

I also think that sometimes in the stress of planning a wedding - we forget to enjoy the “engaged” stage. Couples now (2022, 2023, and event 2024) seem to have longer engagement periods, and if thats you I truly hope you are enjoying and soaking up every single second!!🥰

I think all us engaged people should start wearing white every chance we get, overusing the word fiancé, and celebrating every single step along the way. Booked a vendor? Celebrate. 🍾 Ordered invites? Celebrate. 🍾 Wrote your vows? Celebrate. 🍾

Let’s just celebrate the heck out of being engaged and planning a wedding and GETTING MARRIED, okay?🍾🥳

I spent yesterday filming Casey & Ben - but very rarely did I prompt them to do anything for the camera… These two are SO in love & it was so fun to witness the way they’re always smiling and making each other giggle and just enjoy hanging out with each other 🥹

It truly was the BEST way to kick off my 2022 season!!👏🏻

Details… Love ‘em or love to hate em?

One of my goals for this season is to get more creative with details!! They’re are such a fun part of your day that can showcase your personality /style, and are also amazing clips to sprinkle into a wedding film!

Any brides out there love to hate details when it comes to planning?! 🙋🏻‍♀️ I have been slacking majorly in this department, and with 4(ish) months to go - I’ve decided I should probably get focused on all things florals and decorations and other details 😅

What detail are you so glad you had / wish you would have had on your big day?!

Please take this as a reminder that the memories your videographer can capture for you are pretty much impossible to put a price tag on. Special things, like Brena’s dance with her grandpa, go from being special moments to irreplaceable memories in the blink of an eye. ❤️

You guys, these past two weeks have been LONG. I mean the kind of long that makes you wanna come home from work and do absolutely nothing. 😥

Last Saturday would have been my Dad’s 61st birthday, so the days leading up to it (and that day itself) were emotional and unproductive and full of all of the tears and happy memories and anything else you can think of.

This week has been a bit of a disaster in my other life (owning businesses is not for the faint of heart - because if one thing goes wrong there’s a good chance there are one or two more things following close behind) 😅

I believe that I am all caught up on inquires, messages, etc but if for some reason you have not heard back from me PLEASE reach out again!!

Hiii I’m Megan - the face behind the camera here at Megan David Films 👋🏻

I’m in a season of life where showing up on socials is a priority, but not THE priority (ya get me?). But I just got back some headshots from and it felt like a good time for a lil intro💃🏼

In my other life I’m a full time business owner (meat locker & grocery store), am in the depths of planning a September ‘22 wedding, and also enjoy spending a good chunk of time with my family & friends❤️

The thing nobody wants to talk about is that if I’m really succeeding in one of those areas - chances are the others are a little below average and THAT IS OKAY 👏🏻 I am not superwoman & I cannot do it all.

What I can do, however, is help you have some serious fun on your wedding day, make sure you & your person spend as much time together as possible, & create a film not only for you, but for generations to come 🥰

Morgan & Logan decided on forever at Logan’s family pond on an insanely gorgeous late November day. (Legend has it the gorgeous weather was all because of an upside down bottle of bourbon buried exactly 30 days before their wedding)

This was the place they had their first date and where Logan proposed, and now the place where they said their vows. ❤️ And did I mention that they met at a wedding, making the day that much more special? This day was emotional yet lighthearted and every bit as fun as it was sentimental. To say that it was the perfect way to end my 2021 season would the understatement of the year.

What's your favorite way to take care of yourself after a long day/getting ready for a long week?!

I am back from vacation and ready to set myself up with a strong routine for this year - but something that's really important to me is making sure I'm taking care of myself mentally too!

I think this is SO important for brides especially!! Planning a wedding is a rollercoaster of emotions and stresses and it can be extremely overwhelming. That's why its so important to build into your routine things that make you feel better, make you feel like you.

Something I'm excited to try out this year that I've heard of some couples doing is once a month (or week if you have the time) going on dates where they do not talk about the wedding/planning at all. Just to get away from the stress for a night and think about other things (because life doesn't stop just because you're planning a wedding)!

Meet Clayton & Ashley! My first wedding/couple where I not only felt like I could do this, but that I loved to. 🥳

They got married December 2020 & spent their planning journey dealing with the pandemic (think restrictions, spikes, etc).

We spent the whole year chatting back and forth (aka getting to know each other/becoming friends), and while the circumstances were not ideal it truly made a difference on their wedding day.

Not only were they more comfortable with me, but I was more comfortable with them (and confident in their trust in me)! I was also able to be an advocate for things I knew they did (or did not) want based on the conversations we had with each other. 🤩

Their wedding day (and film) were a huge turning point for things around here. It's crazy to me to think about how much change and growth came from 2021, but it makes me even more excited for what 2022 can bring. ✨

I didn't always know how to pose couples / get shots dreamy shots like this one. 😅

To be honest, when I first started filming weddings I just followed the photographer around and filmed what they had the couple do.

THEN I learned that couples are lot more comfortable having a camera on them all day when they're comfortable with the person behind it. & that is when everything changed. ✨

I started really getting to know my couples (and allowing them to get to know me), and investing in educating myself on how to be the best videographer behind the camera, and filmmaker behind the computer. A really big part of that has been the Mastermind, and while I am so stinking excited to head to AZ and hangout with all those amazing humans, and I am an emotional wreck that our year together is coming to an end. 😭

I guess I'm just here to say: There is a lot to be said for communicating with your photographer/videographer and allowing them the chance to interact with you before your wedding day. I promise it will be one of the best decisions you make.

And if you're just getting started doing something you love - keep going. Give it a year. Give it three years. I promise the view from higher up the mountain is worth the climb. ❤️

Behind the scenes around here, it's mainly me, Megan.

I am editor, videographer, social media manager, accountant, you name it I'm in charge of it. After all - this is Megan David Films 🤷🏻‍♀️

However, Marshall pulls more weight than I sometimes give him credit for. He is the last set of eyes to see my films before my couples do. He gives an honest outsiders perspective on the films (someone who doesn't know a whole lot about the editing side of things). While I sometimes wish he wasn't so honest, my films really would not be where they are today if it wasn't for his feedback. 🥳

Oh yeah - and he is also my second shooter, bag carrier and drink-getter when he joins me on wedding days. So as much as I claim to be a one woman show (and am in most aspects), he supports the show around here quite a bit.
